barcanista:You need to ask, please provide the link But before you do that, Here are quick thought. CBN is in control of external reserve and all the governors actually have different economic principle. Soludo do not believe in defending the Naira, left for him, he would have devalued the naira completely SLS believed so much in rigorously defending the naira than devaluation. So when we talk about other government defending the naira, we must know that they difference and I will post it to you In fact under Soludo, he allowed the Naira to depreciate, in other words, he deliberately devalued the naira http://www.voanews.com/content/a-13-2009-01-13-voa61-68763277/359137.html |

datolee:Definitely, you don't understand macro-economics. See, Naira also devalued in January this year, are you saying it was deliberate too? http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/02/naira-fluctuated-depreciated-sanusis-suspension-okonjo-iweala/ Like I said, stop being clever by half |

barcanista:You must be a clown. From the link you posted, Oby said 10.72 trillion naira were squandered. My question is "on what?". Mind you, she accused both GEJ and Musa Yaradua on this finacial recklessness meaning your argument on Musa's prudence is VOID! |
| Re: External Reserve And Debt Under Obasanjo, Yaradua And Jonathan Administrations by Nobody: 10:16am On Nov 07, 2014 |
Demdem:Valid question, Do I want change.. hell yes, but I have my conditions 1. I would rather GEJ continue than Buhari 2. If we must criticize this governement, let's do so with facts not lies 3. and if you must promote your candidate, please don't sell lies I'm clear now sir? |

barcanista:Oh dear oh dear.. must we go this low? Here is your headline news "Naira fluctuated, depreciated over Sanusi’s suspension" This happened as a result of Sanusi suspension. I said and I will repeat, Sanusi believed so much in defending the Naira with external reserve that within 1 month of his bowing out of office, the external reserve grew by over $1billion and excess crude also rose. http://www.tribune.com.ng/news/news-headlines/item/12820-foreign-reserves-rises-by-1-4bn-in-1month Here is extract from this link While some financial experts attributed the increase in foreign reserves to the recent clampdown on BDC operators, the apex bank agrees that the increase was due to the drop in drawdowns in CBN’s programme of defending the local currency What is your answer? |

barcanista:Why did you cancel out that Soludo deliberately devalued the Naira instead of defending it? http://allafrica.com/stories/200812170030.html Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, explained to Senators on Tuesday that the devaluation of the Naira is deliberate and gave an assurance that the economy is robust enough to withstand the fall of the currency Keep going round and round macro-economist |

datolee:You just shot yourself on the leg...I just dey laugh you. So indirectly, you've acceptted that GEJ's fellow PDP brothers Yaradua and OBJ mismanaged funds meant for the Military right? How much? Oya let's go! 2001 - 1.28 billion dollars 2002 - 1.93 billion dollars 2003 - 1.190 billion dollars 2004 - 1.159 billion dollars 2005 - 1.024 billion dollars 2006 - 1.067 billion dollars 2007 - 1.029 billion dollars 2008 - 1.73 billion dollars 2009 - 1.825 billion dollars TOTAL = 13.94 billion dollars Add that of 2010 - 2013 which I stated earlier. $13.944b + $8.32bn = $22.24bn It's good you pointed out that the budget doesn't go to weaponry alone. How can it when we're not having a civil war. We have a Military staff profile of just 152000 with probably a slight increase over the years. I was preparing a report for you with relation to the staff profile of the Nigeria Military and an estimate of what staff salaries cut out from the budget so youre gonna see that a lot of money is left to affored at least primary weaponry for our military...but I'm busy now...I hope I'll be able to table that matter with you some other time. |

datolee:My friend Relax, The Naira have ALWAYS been defended but Soludo was even saying that it will not be Indefinite As at 2009. Meaning at at 2009, the Naira was defended WITH our RESERVE, yet had it growing... http://www.proshareng.com/news/5934 The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has said that the country will not use its foreign reserves to defend the naira forever.Jonathan is NOT the first |

Obiagelli:Datolee raised an issue on the 5x increase in budget and you replied with "value of naira". I gave a rebuttal saying naira to dollar exchange rate only increased by 25%. You added inflation and I answered you quite alright. I think subsidy like barca said is for another day where I will be there to refute some claims(if christ tarry). Till then, shalom. |

To buttress my point again.. SLS is a strong believer of defending the naira Soludo didn't believe much in that and here is another evidence While SLS spent a whooping $117bn defending the naira, Soludo spent only $57bn So can you see now that while other regimes may have defended the naira, SLS did more than them. The question should be.. What is better, defending the naira or devalue it.... In any of these, the question should be directed to the CBN governors not the president. http://www.punchng.com/business/global-finance/the-logic-of-nairas-devaluation/ |
