this issue of not been able to log in baffles me a lot bcs it is not a social problem.
b4 choosing ur supervisor, I'll advice u go to ur dept, meet ur dept pg coordinator

From what I've gathered here, I think you will have to go to the school to check for your supervisor's name before selecting on the portal.
