My masters program is for two years and I would like them close to me though. Don't think I have the nerves to leave them behind for two years. They will be in pre school while I'm studying.

That's good but I'm thinking of how to combine school hassles with 2 kids for 2 years.

Studies here is hell, in fact for grad students, it's the innermost part of hell.

I Discovered that most transcripts (testimonies) have read so far on this platform they were all saying their daddy or mummy or uncle or relatives that sponsored them. But my question is .... Can't I sponsor myself ? Because I have a job am presently doing. Please someone should just help me out. What are the chances I have. Thanks

I hope it wasn't after you realized you shouldn't have gotten that useless sudanese visa by all mean that you realized you should have first checked U.S. terrorist labelled countries?

Well, tell the VO what you went to do if any questions pop up. Best of luck.

why not ? you can sponsor yourself but you must show valid evidence of where the money is coming from and how you will be able to sponsor yourself all through your stay in the usa

preschool, mehn, it aint that easy in america oo especially when you and your kids are not citizen or resident. its a different thing here, you cant even leave your kids at home or with anyone. paying for daycare cost an average of 100-120dollars a week depends on location, it could be 200 dollars for each child. have a rethink

To God be the glory, Visa approved this morning @ Lagos consulate.
White man @ Window 7 interviewed me.

VO: good morning ma'am
Me: good morning
VO: why are you going to the US
Me: For Masters degree
VO: Are you married
Me: Yes
VO: do you have kids
Me: yes, two kids
VO: how old are they?
Me : 3 & 4
VO: why do you decide to go back to school
Me: I was offered a job to manage one of my husband's companies in Abuja. Managing over 50 staff is a huge responsibility and I wouldn't want to fail him.
VO: Who will take care of your kids
Me: my mom and they will visit during holidays.
VO: I am going to give you back your I20. Your visa has been approved.

No documents asked. All glory to God for his grace and favor. Interview was in about 2mins.

Happy for you, dear. God be with you and prosper your endeavors over there.

Bro...we all aim at different things in life, if what u want is down a hole , u go in and get it, i didnt get a sudan visa for nothing so i wouldnt consider it useless to me.. and its not a move i regret making.... I was aware but im not the kind of guy to let a tag on a country deprive me of things i would most likely benefit from ...dat aside..i was just considering d best option for my next move, i'm assuming dey have some unspoken of policy against ppl who have been in their enemies lands.. Bro, as long as you have valid reasons for going there you should be fine.
According to DoS stats for NIV issued in 2013:

Sudan - 3328
Somalia - 210
North Korea - 56
Iran - 26,091

Worry? What worry?

All the best.

I said that because many people believe in go as far as putting any kind of visa on their passports.

As I've told you, just state what you went to do in Sudan if at all any questions pop up about your travel history.

That shouldn't be a problem.

if i may ask, why don't you do your msc in Telecom Engineering because you will have a better chance in getting visa.

Which course did you do in your undergrad here in Nigeria and is related to Telecom engineering?

do you have good gpa in your undergraduate? If yes why cant you just send your transcript to the school and apply for Msc or you apply as a transfer student if you don't have good gpa.

Are you applying for graduate or undergraduate and have this in mind that listing cant help you much but if you search by using Google it will suit your taste.. Remember one man's meat is another man's poison.

good day house, I've been silently following this thread for a while now. I just got an admission for my MSc at University of Alabama for spring 2015 (jan 5) but I want to defer for two reasons. My sponsor says I should wait till fall 2015 cos the time is too close for him to provide the funds and I want to compare their offer with the other schools which I applied to for fall 2015 and pick the best in terms of scholarship/fellowship opportunities. Pls feedback needed asap. Thank you.
