Going through the posts on this thread, it is clear that the average Igbo man/woman still harbours a lot of deep seated resentment against their perceived enemies, the Northerners. This is very unfortunate. It is also evident that the Igbo are wary of the Yoruba for seemingly forming a coalition with the North to remove Jonathan from power next year. In a way, this is the whole First Republic scenario playing itself out again. We all know where that ended - a civil war that lasted for 30 months with the loss of an estimated two million lives.

For those now beating the drums of war in Nigeria again, war no be 'beans' o.

From the posts on this thread, it is obvious that a lot of Igbo and people from the South-south never want to entertain the notion of a President of Northern extraction in Nigeria ever again. To such people, I urge restraint and pragmatism. Democracy is a game of numbers. Combined, the peoples of the core North and the South-west outnumber the Igbo and South-south combined. Where in the world does the minority rule over the majority?

One's fear is that the intransigence being shown by the Igbo and South-south peoples towards a Northern Presidency does not bode well for Nigeria. Is it realistic to expect that no Northerner ever rules Nigeria again in the future? Can the minority continue to lord it over the majority indefinitely?

Boko Haram insurgency predates Goodluck. Whilst I'm no fan of Goodluck, I do not believe the insurgency will stop should the clueless one step down or not. The genie is out of the bottle and only the balkanisation of Nigeria will end the insurgency.

If we know that "only balkanisation of Nigeria will end the insurgency", why then do Nigerians still prolong the balkanisation?

May what is happening to the innocent lives being lost in all these tragic incidents happen to all the people who refuse to tell you the truth that until you came to the state house Nigerians were safer. And Nigerians will be safer when you leave the state house and answer the call of GOD for your true calling which is not President of Nigeria. Your greed for power and the greed of the evil cultists, adulterers, embezzlers of public funds, looters and other evil characters in your government and those GEJ TILL 2015 goons supporting you are destroying Nigeria, because you are using innocent Nigerians for your political rituals of human sacrifice, because you want a second term.

I remember a bomb hit Boston and killed 2 Americans who participated in the Boston Marathon. The whole media was awash with the news. CNN and other mainstream media gave us minute-by-minute update on how the two suspects were being tracked. Nigerians got so interested and emotional about people they knew very little about. The Nigerian social media space trended with things like "Pray for Boston", "America we are with you," Even the Federal Government of Nigeria extended their sympathy to the people of the United States. While the hollywood-like search for the two suspects went on, there was at least 7 bomb blasts in Nigeria that killed scores of people, yet the same Nigerian's that were all over social media "praying" for Americans moved on and kept mute like nothing happened. What did the GEJ do? He went on a campaign rally dancing behind a twerking woman, whose picture was circulated by my friend and brother Nasir El-Rufai.

Fast forward till today, in less than two weeks we have had over 100 people killed by the Haramites using bombs! Upper and lower limbs littered all over the place, innocent blood soaking and drenching our land; Cities captured and renamed, and a whole lot of atrocities. Yet, our media has focused on Tambuwal. Other new media such as Linda Ikeji and Nairaland preferred to turn their focus on big booties. And what did our president do? He jetted out to Burkina Faso to broker a change in power, while his people and his country are under siege by the haramites. No presidential statement have been made about the captured Nigerian territories. No presidential statement on the bombed people of Gombe and Bauchi people, and the list goes on and on.

Are we as Nigerians and our government now thick-skinned to the loss of Nigerian lives? Does Jonathan even deserve to be called the President of Nigeria. Why do people living south, make such outrageous statements as "Let them keep killing themselves?" Is this now the level of Nigerian humanity?

I have said this and I will say it again, If this haramite madness continues, we must be prepared to kiss Nigeria goodbye come 2015. There is imminent war and violence brewing in all parts of Nigeria, except the South West and North-West. This war and violence will definitely consume Nigeria, and Jonathan will be our last president if he attempts to rig. Again, if this incompetent and wicked leader rigs this elections, then I can tell you with all sincerity, we must kiss Nigeria good bye. History is a good teacher, and we cannot ignore the American Intelligence report on the existence of Nigeria beyond 2015. As for me. I have refurnished my house Iowa, United States ready to be occupied if GEJ presses that botton. Unfortunately not all Nigerians can escape a burning country. For this reason, we must fight this government out of power for the survival of Nigeria.

It is not all gloomy. We have a chance to change the status quo. We have a chance to change the rot of corruption in Nigeria and allow Nigeria exist beyond 2015. We have that chance in General Mohammadu Buhari. I can tell you, the people's General will certainly make politics unattractive to looters, once they have been locked up in jail and the keys thrown away.

A word is enough for the wise!

Why do we always try to mask religious problems with political and economic problems in this country. Boko haram agenda is pure religion and not political or economical.

Even though it is not easy to solve all three problems, it is easier to solve political and economic problem than handling religious problems which is propagated through terrorism and large scale destruction of properties and innocent human life.

That is what we have worldwide all because we have Muslims. Using Nigeria as a case study, it is even more difficult to solve all three because of our ethnic and religious diversity. Other secular countries like US, Canada, Britain, Germany could easily balance their political equation, solve economic problems, but here in Nigeria we cannot.

It is convenient for you to mention Boston bomb blast. Now let me tell you what you know but refuse to acknowledge because you always live in denial of the facts about Nigeria and the efforts of president Jonathan at making things work.
Nigeria has been bombarded with series of bomb blasts, murder and high rate of terrorism that never seems to end or have an end in sight. So Nigerians no longer see it as any big news when it happens, because it is always being expected. We are now of the mindset that If it doesn't happen today it will eventually happen tomorrow.
It is convenient for you to sit behind a laptop and write whatever you feel, forgetting that the president feels more sad on a daily basis that some people from a certain religious sect will not allow peace to reign in Nigeria. The painful aspect of this is that opposition who should have supported in fighting this terrorism are using it to score cheap political points. It suggests that whenever people are killed, the opposition is always happy and they quickly rush to the media to step up their blackmail propaganda.

According to your mention of Boston blast, you forgot to tell us where Mr. Obama was when it happened. Maybe he should have been there in the crowd trying to defend every individual. He should have seen those guys when they dropped the bomb. Exactly what you want GEJ to do right. GEJ should have been in that ATM queue so that people will not die. GEJ should have been at the gate watching everyone who comes into the bank premises. Your line of argument only suggest that you are either a boko haram sponsor, member or sympathizer. When Boston bomb blast happened, everyone in America came out to support the government in fishing out the terrorists. The powerful and well respected opposition never came out to ask Mr. Obama why he was not in the crowd to defend his people. They gave maximum support and within few days, the suspects were arrested dead and alive. The opposite is what we have in Nigeria. Anytime there is bomb blast opposition runs to media, social media etc. you mentioned El-Rufai as your brother and friend, I'm not surprise at the kind of association you keep. "Tell me your friend and I will tell you who you really are" its a word of wisdom that never fail to prove its potency. I see that you both are members of this terrorist organization.

I will advice you drop that your Boston analogy and deal with realities in Nigeria.
1. America is a secular nation where religion and ethnicity are separated from politics. Nigeria is a religiously divided nation and it play down into our political landscape.
2. America is not divided along religious line. But in Nigeria, we have muslims in the north predominantly and equitably in your southwest. Predominantly Christian in the south east.
3. Because America is a secular nation, you only have pockets of terrorism once in a while and few people die and they deal with it squarely. Why is this? It's because they have insignificant number of Muslims immigrants who have naturalized in the country. Guess what! With what they enjoy in the western world, they will never contemplate suicide bombing or killing innocent Americans and those who did it got what they deserved. Here in Nigeria, we have predominant Muslim north who are drunk on their religious belief that at any slight provocation, they destroy anything in their path. It is general norm in the Muslim world, check the records, from northern Nigeria to the Arab world. Muslims all over Arab wake up every morning gather followers and begin to chant "death to America, death to Israel, death to Britain, death to everyone who they u consider as infidels". These exercises are supervised by pathologically insane Islamic leaders. It happened in Iran about April this year, and this has resonated all across the world. We are seeing it in Iraq, Syria, Libya and pockets of terrorism on US, Canada, Sweden, Norway etc.

You don't need to be told that what we have in Nigeria is religiously motivated and has been integrated into our polity. This "born to rule" mentality have been entrenched into hate ideologies. Today what the average northern Muslim believes is that a Christian has no right to be in power much less from the south. That is what is playing out today and I ask this question always, what if GEJ was a Sokoto or Kano indigene and a Muslim, wouldn't the north rally around him to give him the support he needs to move this country forward? But because he is from the south south and a Christian, the born to rule mentality is suddenly evoked and being executed to cause mayhem in the north.

Have you asked yourself why there is no peace in the Arab world, why are Muslims so violent? Does it mean that there is something wrong with the Islamic religion or the followers are pathologically daft that they can not interpret simple holy book? They preach violence rather than peace. Why why why, ask yourself and give yourself a honest answer.

Religion and ethnicity have killed this Nation and it is being propagated by the northerner Muslim and their southern counterparts.

Why are more people joining boko haram? Have you asked yourself? Think deeper. Is it for monetary gain/economic development? Or for religion sake. When they attack they come in drones, like bees invading a town in their hundreds or thousands. Look for the video and see what your brothers are doing in north east. It's appalling. It takes only to declare a war in that region to stop them, but when GEJ tried it, the Arewa forum and northern elders forum ran to Amnesty international to cry genocide. Who are they trying to deceive?

What do you people want? Really, what do you guys want. Power? Or what. If it is power, sorry you can't have it now because your actions and utterances of your leaders have given your ambition away a long time. The real reason behind Boko haram is glaring now, and Nigerians are watching.
Who are the supporters of the opposition, just take a good statistics of the number and quality of supporters the opposition has, they are full of 90% northern almajiris and stack illiterates, and poorly educated bunch you have in the south. Your northern elites have impoverished their people for decades, they know nothing but violent change as heralded & currently being supported by your infamous Alhaji Atiku. While they send their wards abroad to acquire the same good education which is a global agenda of the the western nations you hate so much. At the end of the day their wards come back to pick up federal appointments while the almajiris continue to wallow in abject poverty of the mind, soul and body and everything thing about life.

GEJ has neglected his own region just to develop the north, yet you people are not satisfied. To you all, as far as he is not a Muslim northerner, he is not qualified to be the president of the great nation. I remember Odi issue when OBJ was in power, when the military was sent there, they did not hesitate to take Odi down, Odi was leveled, brought to her knees. Why because majority of our armed forces are Muslims from the north, so it wasn't a big deal to wipe Odi out. Now it's the other way round, they can't kill their brothers, they'd rather donate their armor to boko haram. God is watching you and your blood thirsty leeches. Time shall really tell.

I can bet you, your people wouldn't even allow a southern Muslim be the next president even if he is the best we can ever have.

So what do you really want? Ask your brother, ask the general ask boko haram. It's a shame.

The question you should be asking is, what is wrong with muslims, what is islam really teaching them? That is what we need to ask because this is Terrorism not fight for economics emancipation, not fight for fundamental human right, not right have have a roof over their head, water and electricity. This is terrorism as seen in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan. Etc. this is beyond GEJ, security is everybody's business.

if i am GEJ I will create asylum centers, migrate those still willing to be nigerians from NE, declare total war on BH and identify and command the loyal soldiers to fight and finish BH. Wetin sef? You declare war they shout genocide, you try to approach it with dispatch they cry incompetence. It is so unfortunate that the region we fear that might be hurt when total war is declared is already VERY HURT at the moment, millions already displaced and running for their lives. What else is left? Declare real war and cordon off those areas in Grids and level off BH. Well unfortunately I am not GEJ and the Chief of Army staff. Some one should tell them to step up their strategy because it is already getting closer to comfort zone. Nigeria must not divide under GEJ because of those who think that they cannot be ruled by other ethnic groups or persons from other religious front. Its a shame. They do not even understand that continued insurgency is an opportunity to keep the power down south. Morons.

I still don't get the logic behind arguments like this. GEJ is not the President of Southern Nigeria, he is the Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Among the casualties are Christians, Muslims, Southerners and Northerners, common men like you and I. Don't they deserve protection? People that got killed are regular folks who came to withdraw their salary, even if the Northern leaders are devils, the onus is on GEJ as the President to defend and protect his citizens. These "innocent souls" need protection from the man in charge of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, and DSS he is the most powerful man in this country.

Helloooooo, security is everybody's business. Maybe you want GEJ to come and be in that queue also so that he can protect everyone inch by inch. when a man have been brainwashed into carrying explosive devices I to crowded places, then he is gone. He will use every means possible to achieve that aim. Abdulmutallab, their son got into the aircraft unnoticed with an explosive device planted in his underwear. So what are we talking about here.
At least there are security men at the gate, and those who queued up at the ATM were not also vigilant. How can someone walk into the bank premises, drop a bag and left and he was not apprehended. Or I get to an ATM, see a bag left by God knows who, I'll immediately run away and alert the security men. So it is also our responsibility to watch out, GEJ cannot be everywhere. The nigerian army cannot also be everywhere. Let's face the fact.
