For those that frequent the politics section of Nairaland, the name Dede aka Duru aka DerideGull won't be strange. The owner of the handles believed to be in his late 70s or early 80s fought in the Civil War on the side of Biafra.
For some months now, he has not been seen. Does anybody know what the problem could be? He was known for always discussing the Nigerian Army, the Civil War as well as culture. When it's time for discussing the Civil War and the Nigerian Army, he and Katsumoto always argue with each other. Even, Katsumoto himself has not been seen for a long time. Could they have taken their "war" outside the forum?

I miss those 2 who disappeared after the great crash and data loss of nairaland. I hope they are well.

What do you expect? When kids and political parties agents have taken over the section doing foolish things and glady encouraged on by admin and the mods. Only Gbawe is left and I'm sure if it continues this way, you won't see him also here again by next year.

He has confirmed that himself. Unfortunately, senior posters like Katsumoto, takedat [take dat] et al and intellectuals like Italiano1 are no longer here or are not that frequent again!

Dede is a hero.

As caustic as Deridegull's posts are, I can't but agree that he is a very knowledgeable and intelligent old man.

Katsumoto remains the best ever.

Good days of Nairaland before all sorts of brainless nicompoops flooded this section. I miss Dede honestly although the old geezers history knowledge was seen through biafra-tinted glasses. He was quite a revisionist too,hope he finds peace wherever he may be.
