Bomb Blast Students At Assembly Ground

A fresh bomb blast in Potiskum this morning has been reported to have killed more than 30 students in Potiskum, Yobe state.

The bomb went off when students of the Government Senior Science Potiskum, Potiskum Local Government area of the state gathered for their morning assembly. Many of the students were seriously injured.

A teacher from the school told Daily Trust he counted more than 30 corpses.
"Over thirty corpses are lying in pool of their blood and we are now moving the injured to hospital for medical attention," the teacher who didn’t volunteer his name said.

The Yobe state commissioner of Police Markus Danladi confirmed the incident to Daily Trust in a telephone chat. He said he was on his way to the scene of the blast. He could not confirm the number of casualties.

A student who escaped by the whisker told Daily Trust that the mastermind of the blast came into the school compound with a bag and detonated the explosive in the midst of students.

Only last week, a suicide bomber killed more than 20 members of the Shiite sect in Potiskum during their religious procession, injuring many more.

I will still blame GEJ because in 2011 when they bombed the Police HQ and UN Building,he should have fought this insurgency head on, these guys were not that powerful then now they ve gained more ground in the North East and have more resources @ their disposal. Too late to eradicate them, we Nigerians shd brace up as these insurgency will not be ending soon. But will be interesting to wait and see if BH is fighting because Jonathan is the president.

Its Official, It is on CNN breaking news right now. This election period, expect more attacks and counter attacks. If you are still in the three red zones, It is your fault.

I still wonder what Minimah is still doing on that seat. He has failed compared to the past General

These are kids that know nothing about the fight against the fg. The bombs and guns they use to fight against western education is a product of western education.

It is time for the Northern leaders to come out clearly and condemn these atrocities done in the name of their religion. It is definitely out of control.

If only the government could be serious and united about insecurity like they were against Ebola, things would be better.

US and UK have had their own attacks but they stood up against it in one voice and they enjoy relative peace in that aspect.

GEJ keeps saying Terrorism is a global threat. Yes, agreed it is. But the govt response by politicizing this issue with APC and it's critics is appalling. Nigerians are really on their Own. RIP to the dead and condolence to their families.

Last Bullet- I know the number of people on bbm with pix of Myles Munroe and his family with RIP messages. Even the ones who have not heard a single message of his. Most don't/will not have a message for these innocent nigerian souls. Why? Because Tribalism and Religion has stripped off our humanity as a Nation. Just imagine for a second it happening in your child's, Lil sisters', Nephews' and nieces' school. That feeling u experienced with that imagination you have right there is what you should feel even when they are not remotely related to you. God save this nation

America has the most powerful millitary, financial and human resources in the world yet they were unable to dislodge Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan , Isis in Iraq and Syria ,or you think nigeria has more resources than Egypt who has been struggling with Islamist terrorist for several years in sinal .untill it comes into your small brain that Islamist terrorist is like a a cancer, when it start it has started you will never grow up .Govt can only control but can never eradicate it.You were among the people that were jublating when they were killing religious minorities, you never knew things will soon turn the other way round, my bros you have to start learning how to live with it just like your counterpart in Iraq ,Somalia ,Afghanistan ,Syria etc

It is realy sad that the death of a heresy preacher make frontpage but the death of about 47 young people not.

That shows that a life is nothing in nigeria but what is important is money

What do I call a being who takes his/her own life with others? These people are not "human" being, they are animals, they are something else. Barbarians not worthy of human association. These animals deserve extermination, they and their sponsors and supporters of any sort.
On a sad note, I pray for the repose of the souls of these young, innocent and defenseless children lost to these cursed barbarians.

This is sad...our intelligence agencies have failed us, our security agencies have failed us, our educational system has failed us, our government has failed us, our opposition has failed us, the international community has failed us.

We have the potential, the resources and everything at our disposal to end this madness. what are we stalling for?
