Good Morning guys I need your take on selecting schools for graduate programs (US)- heard i have to send my scores after my GRE test. I am trying to be prudent: i would love a top school but i cannot put all my eggs in one basket. So my OGAS, schools for Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering Programs. I have looked-up a couple of schools (through GOOGLE, of course), but i need expert advice on how to increase my chances of getting admission. 1)School of Mines Colorado 2) Texas- Austin 3) Texas A/M. but they seem to be all top schools. I also need playing safe kind of schools Thanks. |

dicapino: Use best-engineering-colleges dot com. It will enable you pick schools in different teir. For the schools listed, they are top schools with acceptance rate of 1in 5. It's a holistic process so your grades have to be stellar to compete. |

I hope this is not a 'bannable' offence, justwise because it seems that is what is in vogue now: Oga Wale, please a friend wants to write the SAT but is really verdant to the whole standardized tests thing. I would like your take on what materials he should procure as well as the best way to prepare for the test. Please, anyone who has written the test should lend his or her voice here. Thank you guys. Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by Nobody: 9:12am On Nov 13, 2014 |
dicapino:Generally, the most competetive candidates end up in stanford, UT austin, Texas A/M because they have the best engineering programs/deepest links with industry/recruiters but any of University of houston, LSU, University of Oklahoma Norman , University of Alaska, School of mines should be a decent choice too. I'll consider University of Louisiana Lafayette, Texas Tech as relatively safe schools but you'll still need to put in a competitive profile( Good gpa, good gre quant scores, rec letters, solid sop) because of the demand for petroleum nowadays. Good luck Petroleum Engineering Schools 1 Like |
