^^^Also, that portion of the east-west road can be redirected under the river if need be! The South East states can factor this into the cost of building a sea port in Anambra!

Further down from Onitsha is Ndoni; if we get a country of our own we could also consider locating the sea port there!
If we get our own country then forget about seaport because this selfish ijaw people will never allow you to dredge their territory. Only then you will make use of transshipment and pay tax to themgrin .

Ijaw and Ikwere have behaved badly in the past because when Igbo were down, they were desperate not to be associated with Igbo. Igbo could payback now with dumping GEJ, but Igbo is a wiser group. You cannot cut your nose to spite your face. In any case, the enemies of Igbo and Southsouth peoples are the same. It is in their interest to promote Igbo vs. minorities bickering so that they can manipulate the squabble to their advantage. I thank God the southern minorities have begun to wise up to the plot to pitch them against their Igbo neighbors so that they can run to northerners or Yoruba in order to fight Igbo.
These people have seized such opportunity to exploit and emasculate the south south so much. Only recently have the southern minorities land started earning some development from their oil wealth. It always used to be the north and Lagos that were developed with the oil wealth, while the southern minorities were lied to that they were being "protected" from their Igbo neighbors as their wealth was being stolen.

When Nigeria finally collapse, we shall have an amicable agreement to use those rivers for our ships. Even the southern minorities know it is in their interest to exist peacefully with their Igbo brothers or both our peoples shall continue to suffer as slaves under the wicked machinations of the Hausa/Fulani and the Yoruba manipulators

Contrary to what you just wrote above the major problem between Igbo and mostly Rivers/Bayelsa State ethnic amalgam is the role they played as middlemen between Igbos and Europeans in pre-colonial times.

Our best bet to access the sea is Akwa-Ibom via Ogoni through Imo River. That same route Jaja used to outsmart Bonny in the 19th century. Attempts to use any other routes like Niger and Orasi will meet stiff resistance.

'Stiff resistance' by way of seeking a judicial pronouncement on the matter at the ICJ, i have no problem with; but if any fool thinks they can bully the Igbo nation just out of spite, badbelle and jealousy.....this will be met with even 'stiffer resistance'!

Lets not go there at all. We don't need to prove anything to anyone and will never get to that stage with our brothers. Our military forces in our new country shall be efficient and ruthless, but only to defend our northern border from Boko Haram invasion. Some major tribes in nigeria such as Hausa and Yoruba have vested interest that you shouldn't talk with your southern brother and resolve a family feud, so that they can continue to manipulate both of you to their advantage.

Like i said, even the abandoned property saga was engineered by outsiders to create disaffection between Igbo and Southern minorities. Their triumph card over the years is that it worked!

We have to change the way we behave towards ourselves so that we are not easy tools in the hands of our enemies.Just as the British and the French quickly sorted out their trivial rivalries in order to overcome the German aggression in WW2. When the time comes, we shall settle all these little issues. Even if the agreement involves a token fee for "right of passage". It is a small price to pay than for us to all be stuck together as slaves inside Nigeria.

I believe you know little about the politics down here and the hereditary prejudice. The truth is that we have options but not through here.

These issues are not that serious.Believe me, there is also prejudice even amongst Igbos, but the overall good and quest for freedom supersedes all that. The reason the squabbles have been promoted for a long time to seem intractable was because some people wanted it to continue so that they will continue to benefit from the squabbles.

Imagine that Igbo is today the bedrock support of an Ijaw man as President?? After all the abandoned property saga etc?? Who would have thought that such an alliance would ever be possible? But human beings often bury their personal misgivings and work together for the overall good. That is what has happened and will continue to happen.

Even if North Central wants their own country and wants access to the sea via the River Niger to Lokoja or Makurdi, we shall work with them to get it. I believe when every region govern themselves and use their resources to develop their country, the entire place will be very prosperous and peaceful.

Guy since the advent of Oil in nigeria, ijaw people don't give a fvck about any tribe. Then if you think that igbos are their frnds then it means you're living on denial like a Yo-robber mangrin
This people use to spew venom about the big major tribes(hausa,igbo,yo-robber) on each of their any gathering. You will be asking yourself so this people won't even hide their bigotry even on programs that are been aired online.
Have you read their kaima declaration ?

This is a test of what is to come in Enugu State. Does anyone see the guy's sagged trouser coupled with the defacing of public property. I bet Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will be a disaster. My mind tells me that. cry cry cry

I still do not understand the rationale for choosing this guy of all the people in Nsukka zone to govern Enugu State. Honestly i won't vote for this guy if I am in Enugu during election. I hope Sullivan understands what he is doing in this regard.

I just had the most amazing tasting fruit juice from my Cameroonian friend. The fruit juice was made from Icheku fruit!!!

Like seriously, this fruit juice tasted so fresh and sweet!!! It is annoying that our people still import fake flavored sugar drinks and call them fruit juices? Yet, we have something this naturally sweet and refreshing wasting away ? I am glad someone in Cameroon is using this fruit to make big money and even export the juices to America!

But since this fruit is most preponderant in SE Nigeria, why can't our people learn how this fruit is boiled and canned or bottled into fruit juices? Our people know how to bottle fake drinks from Europe, yet this authentic fruit which we can process and make good money from, it is the Cameroonians doing it?

Sorry for posting here, but i hope someone looking for something interesting to produce and package will try out this idea. Thanks.

Please do a little research on Suez Canal. The last war between Israel and Egypt was the attempt by the later to place a blockade to preprevent the former from exercising her right of way.

If every country that borders the coastal line begins to block the commercial ships belonging to their enemy countries, na im be say nobody will leave his territory to another.

People have right of way under both international and municipal laws.

We all know the man in the poster sent them. That is who to hold responsible.

A MILE STONE IN SOUTHEAST ECONOMIC INTEGRATION

RECENTLY, the Board of the South East Nigeria Development Fund (SENDEF) headed by Dr Pascal Dozie, was inaugurated in Enugu. The occasion was witnessed by Igbos from all walks of life.

“The imperative of regional economic development and co-operation in the South East geopolitical zone is well established. The Eastern Region and even during East Central State recorded phenomenal development. The Eastern Region within eight years, starting from self-rule in 1958 through independence in 1960 to 1966, achieved significant development strides: a cement company at Nkalagu; a university at Nsukka with a campus in Calabar which metamorphosed into the University of Calabar; industrial estates at Emene, Port Harcourt, Umuahia, Aba and Onitsha where impressive manufacturing took place; huge and vibrant markets were set up in Onitsha, Aba, Enugu and Owerri, and these markets catalysed distributive trade entrepreneurship among our people; farm settlements that moved agriculture from a peasant occupation to a full and rewarding commercial enterprise were created...... According to him, it is disappointing that since the 1970s, the southeast has been burdened by all manner of administrative structures and contrivances designed to meet the challenges of states in the southeast. “The last significant public investments in manufacturing enterprises were undertaken under the Mbakwe and Nwobodo Administrations in old Anambra and Imo States between 1979 and 1983. The successor states did not have a platform to revive Niger Steel, Nigercem, Nigerian Cotton Mill, Aba Textile, Premier Breweries, Golden Guinea Breweries, Modern Ceramics and Modern Shoe Industry. Even the private sector enterprises that partnered with the regional and state governments in the past have been declining. Where are the GMOs, the Eastern Shops, the Michelletis, the J. N. Nwankwus, the O. C. Gravels, the Dunon Furniture, the Ozoekwem Furniture, the Ozokwo Farms, the F. G. N. Okoyes and sons, the Hardel and Enics?

With the renowned banker, Pascal Dozie in the think-tank, there could be hope of a successful SENDEF. With him, Ndigbo’s funds would be safe, I’m sure of that. In fact, this platform couldn’t have arrived at a better time. With the upcoming privatization of Airports in the country, the SENDEF will be in a strong moral position to grab the AIIA Enugu and make it a viable international aviation hub in the sub region. With a determined SENDEC/ SENDEF, a port at Azumini could equally be realized. Dredging that 40 KM stretch to the Opobo estuary wouldn’t be financially insurmountable for this commission This could be the much awaited vehicle to harness the gains of Ndigbo in the private sector and those of our respective state governments.
