it's not really about celebrating boiled corn but the fact that we are able to ensure that crops are preserved for much longer than before. in the days past I believe an agricultural minister once said about 60% of out output goes bad between the farmland and market.

what this means is the farmers are making m
ore as less goes bad, and we consu.ers can enjoy corn all year round.

There's no freeaking preservation bro, they only brought improved seedlings that can grow in the dry season.. No barns, no silos, no preservation of any sort...

Ever heard of the term: "Late Maize"? I knew it as far back as my primary school days (early 80s). IITA recommends planting such in mid-August in areas where rainfall is likely to be adequate. Granted that it takes about 3 months to harvest maize after planting, November seems a perfect time to harvest "Late Maize" without any special intervention. However, if this announcement comes in February or March, that may be attributed to an intervention or a working policy.
