If you don't know what to say, shut your mouth. The honourable who assaulted David Mark is a member of PDP from Niger State.

Don't mind the guy, he just embarrassed himself.

I must say that the PDP members handled themselves very well and maturely. As for the APC lawmakers......heh...bunch of thugs. And can you image the last lawmaker asking what the Senate president is doing in their chamber? Is there a law against that? And "THIER" chamber?! Last time I checked, they were the MINORITY.
U r blind and deaf at the same time. It has repeatedly bn told u dt the person who made that statement was from PDP. Pls take ur lies elsewhere

Lets leave party politics aside, This is very uncivilized, barbaric, very embarrassing and a very low point for Nigeria watching actions of a man that considers himself fit to stand to be elected as the leader of a country. His advisers and party (APC) should have informed him that this is a behavior of a thug and shows no morals, it is bad leadership for so called speaker of the house.

Shame on APC. These people are worse than animals to descend to such low. It is common sense, when you switch to an opposition party, you are no longer speaker of the house. Speaker of the house and Leader of Senate are positions occupied by the majority government.
One thing is clear, these people don't even understands the political system they practice yet they want to lead a country.

Oh really? Shame on APC? If u could reason a little u would ask:
Wht is d police doing at the national assembly? I hope u know their jurisdiction does not extend there!
Why did PDP support illegality in Ekiti d previous day?
Why was Tambuwal's security aides removed even though the court said they should maintain status quo?

If u can connect the dots u will understand dt what those lawmakers did was to save ur democrazy. Ur glorious pdp acted like criminals & APC countered them. Dts d best way to survive in this nigerian jungle

We are witnessing gross abuse of executive power by the presidency and the total retrenchment of the principle of separation of power, which is the hallmark of any democracy, the presidency is not oblivious of recent happenings in the House of Rep, if the speaker of the House of Representatives can't gain entrance into his hallowed chamber without being harassed, how on earth did the David Mark find his way into the chambers?

A lot of egos have been bruised, it's a shame these are the sort of criminals Nigerians would vote back into the office, it's a viscous cycle..

NIGERIA AS A NATION IS BIGGER THAN ONE PERSON, HISTORY HAS PROVEN YOU CANT HOLD NIGERIA TO RANSOM..

We are just wasting our time in this country, no progress what so ever can come under this kind of setting where supposed honourable members parade themselves as touts. thank God for politics otherwise most of them would have been picking recycle items from the dump site.

100 percent, come 2015, there will be a new government in Nigeria and if you don't like it, you can emigrate to another country. Nigeria belong to everyone irrespective of religion, ethnicity or tribe. Stop spewing rubbish on Internet. It wasn't only Christian that voted for Jonathan in 2011.

Police must be given some credit for their decorum that day. The Nigerian police we know would have wasted lives and do their investigation and write their report and implement it.

Right from the days of Adam and Eve, fence climbing is trespassing, the school i attended in France, if you climb fence, you are expelled...

Keeping their cool?. They illegally prevented our elected reps from doing their jobs and you say they kept their cool.
Did it occur to you their mission was illegal locking up the gates to our legislative chambers.

What makes the action of the Police illegal? By right, Tambuwal shouldn't preside as speaker any more thanks to his defection to the minority. Honestly, if not for his immunity clause, he and his goons ought to have been arrested.

We Will Not Recognize The Outcome Of Any Rigged Elections, APC Insists, Slamming Presidency

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the presidency’s agitated response to its warning that if the 2015 elections are rigged, the party will not recognize the outcome and will go ahead to form a parallel government, saying that represents the stand of the party.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the presidency’s agitated response to its warning that if the 2015 elections are rigged, the party will not recognize the outcome and will go ahead to form a parallel government, saying that represents the stand of the party. All Progressives Congress

In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said that what Gov. Rotimi Amaechi said at the APC's Salvation Rally, which has now rankled the presidency into a state of delirium, was simply to reiterate the stand taken by the party before the last Osun State Governorship election.

''Those who are fretting about this statement are those who are planning to rig the elections and they should be warned that Nigerians will no longer accept the outcome of any fraudulent polls. Those who incite the people are those who steal their mandate.

''What we made is a conditional statement. If A happens, then B will follow. That means if elections are not rigged, there will be no problem. It is therefore laughable that anyone will call that statement treasonable,'' APC said, adding that there is no higher treason than the subversion of the people's will.

The party said it was common knowledge that anywhere in the world where elections have been rigged, the consequences have been dire, and Nigeria will not be an exception.

''Let us remind the presidency, in case it has forgotten, that election fraud triggered a civil war in Algeria in the early 1990s, led to the killing of over 1,000 people in post-election riots in Kenya in 2007/2008 and fired a near revolution in Iran in 2009/2010. Electoral frauds also corrupt democracy and breed dictatorship, and risks making the people to lose confidence in democracy. Why then would any government react violently if warned against election rigging?'' the party queried.

It said that instead of issuing threats and engaging in name calling, the presidency should simply brace up to ensure that the forthcoming elections are not only free, fair and credible, but are seen to be so by Nigerians and the international community.

APC said it was necessary to constantly warn the PDP and the Federal Government not to tamper with the 2015 polls because of their penchant for electoral desperation, which manifests in the intimidation of the opposition and the militarization of elections, disposition to anarchy and propensity for impunity.

It noted that the process leading to the 2015 polls was already flawed, with moves to disenfranchise millions of Nigerians by making it impossible for them to either register or get their Permanent Voters Cards, and the plot to depopulate the strongholds of the opposition.

''PDP and the governments it sired, especially at the centre, are lawless and anarchic. That's why they can unleash the police against federal legislators in an attempt to force a removal of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. That's why a state under the control of the PDP will use seven lawmakers to remove the Speaker in a 26-member House of Assembly.

''Because it is said that eternal vigilance is the price of freedom, we will constantly warn the PDP and the Federal Government not to tamper with the 2015 elections. We will constantly chide them for trying to institutionalize impunity. We cannot and will not be intimidated by an uptight presidency,'' it said.

''The PDP and the Jonathan Administration are the masters of impunity, and they will not hesitate to exploit any sign of docility in the face of their evil intentions on the part of the opposition. The lessons are there: Had the members of the House of Representatives been docile on Thursday when remote-controlled security agents invaded their premises and barred them from entering, Tambuwal would have ceased to be the Speaker by now.

''For us, the gloves are off. We will no longer engage in any nicety as long as some people are bent on thwarting the will of the people through electoral fraud. All we are demanding is a free, fair and credible election. All we are saying is that no one should incite the people by stealing their mandate. How these demands can be construed to mean treason is as baffling as the do-or-die disposition of the ruling PDP to elections,'' the party said.

Who told you GEJ is power drunk. Why not ask your goons in the north who have always insisted that power belongs to the north and they are born to rule. Why are you people so daft, I don't get some of you. Your comments lack depth and you talk like people brainwashed with sulphuric acid. Ever since GEJ won elections, has he ever one month free of violence and bombings from the northerners, yet you say he is power drunk. The northerners have done everything possible through their beloved brothers in boko haram to make governance horrible for this man, yet you come here to talk trash, please delete yourself and go and hug transformer. Rubbish. You should be ashamed of your comment here. Your handle tells it all. It's obvious you just hate GEJ

Can't you make your point without resorting to abusive words? it just shows how little you are. Regarding your comment, it is only a brain-dead that will see boko haram as only problem in this government, boko haram is the birth of many ramifications in this country and the inability of this government to contain it is due to his failure to address those problems. There is division even within his own camp as a president, we saw what happened in the recent fracas in national assembly, a man that cannot put his own house in order because of his greed for power, clannishness, chameleon policy, and unparalleled corruption, you expect him to be able to solve multifarious problem of militancy like boko haram. When his predecessor was faced with the same challenge in a more elusive way in niger/delta, we saw how he was able to restore calm in the region using bottom-up approach.

Saying northerners are killing themselves with boko haram just to dent the image of this government is showing how low and bigoted this government and you its supporters can be. You people are willing to blame the ineptitude and failure of your president on anything/body that has a name to be called, e.g. opposition, northerners, even poor man on the street. I don't even know how he got to that position, if those people you are painting black didn't give him their mandates. Go and learn to be objective in your argument my friend.

Jonathan what? I laugh at you, I'm not for GEJ neither i am against him. As a matter of fact,i don't belong to any political party. My goals are simple.I need a Leader who can represent us well . Unfortunately GEJ looks like one, but he was not allowed to do so, before the northerners pick up guns and bomb.I will be glad to see GEJ give power to somebody like Akwa Ibom state governor as a president, formal information minister (prof Jerry Gana) even Fashola if he will not have Bola Ahmed as his adviser, Adams Oho baba because during his time as LB president he fort well . What am against is seeing all these old men who has been they at their young age couldn't do anything for us, now they are old they are coming to make money for their Children telling us they want to save Nigeria, it's all lies let them let us be.They have failed us before.

I dont blame the reps members for trying to assert themselves as legitimate members of NASS,THEY HAVE SOVEREIGNTY TO ACCESS THE NASS AS LEGISLATORS, SO FAR THEIR TENURE HAS NOT EXPIRED. IT'S JUST LIKE SECURITY OPERATIVE BEING USED TO LOCK OUT JUDGES FROM COURTROOM. Why can't they allow them unto their chambers peacefully and use civilized means to seek redress, instead of frustrating them to this ugly action?
