laraxxx: Life is truly a funny place.. Look at how those Rep's members were assaulting the Nigerian Police and the Police kept their cool.. The scene where the Car was trying to run over the Police officer was really interesting.. All I kept thinking to myself was; How would that scene had played out if those were Nigerian students or regular citizens.. I am sure that at that point, shots would have been fired.. if not on the car, in the air. But seeing as it's big men protesting, the police went by the books. When the occupy Nigeria protest happened, someone was shot and killed.. When the Lekki toll protest happened, someone got shot.. When the Chibok protest in Abuja happened, the Police opened fire.. When students protest, shots are also fired.. But here we are with reps attacking officers with cars and even shoving them aside and nobody got merked.. The Police needs to remember that they are part of the lowest cared for in our society and that when the citizens protest, their interests are also covered.. I really wish the youths can come together in our society and wrestle power from these charlatans we call leaders.. what's the point of fighting the Police!? Shouldn't they be law abiding? Shouldn't they have used other non aggressive means of going at this? If it were other regular Nigerians that acted in that mannner, these reps would have called them animals.. Most of those reps should be arrested and charged in accordance with the law.. otherwise, let's throw out the police and run shiit on our own terms.. I am truly ashamed.. 2 Likes |

Its like you are lost and blind to see what is hapening in the nigerian politics. The presidency n pdp plotted everything. What is the reason of closing the gate to allow them from entering in to their chambers while they are around? Coup or impeachment? |

The speaker is d no 4 man in the country. Am worried this same man will be the one ensuring law and order during the election . Trust me if those law makers didnt act dat way the house wldbhv met and the pdp law makers wld hv impeached the speaker. Wat will dey do? Go to court? We all knw by the time court gives judgemnt anoda election will be ongoing. A policeman cant prevent me from entering my house for no reason. He must tell me why and wen. And I hope u knw the IGP is part of the executive from the constitution. ? Someone somewhere is pullin some plugs. |

People tend to forget in their comments that we have 3organs of government, the executive, legislative and judiciary. Each of them work independent of the other. police is an executive organ and for it to be in National Assembly, it must be with full authorization of Senate President or Speaker of House of Representatives. National Assembly has its own internal security administration under the Sergeant_at_arms who have the power to arrest and hand over to police. Its is just like the university system. Police would never enter into University campus to effect arrest of a student or staff without the permission of the VC or Head of Security because they have their own internal security measures. The question most of us have not asked is this; who invited the police within the precincts of National Assembly beyond their usual check point outside the compleneithetrly neithet Senate President nor Speaker invited the police. Therefore whatever the police came to do there was totally illegal and the law allows everyone the right to resort to a reasonable degree of force to extricate himself from any illegal action of another person. As long as we continue to believe that once a man is on uniform and carries gun as a law enforcement agent, then he is always right then Nigeria is doomed. Police was not right in the first place to have barricaded member of the House of Representatives from entering, itbis not justified anywhere in the world. Can the Senate President or Speaker of House of Representatives lead members of National Assembly uninvited to Aso Rock Villa? National Assembly exclusively belongs to all those men you saw jumping the gate and however you enter your house is nobody's business whatsoever, if you like break the door or pull down the gates and walls, you are within your rights. POLICE WAS CLEARLY ON AN ILLEGAL DUTY. 5 Likes |

Why hasn't anyone said anything about David Mark who was also delayed for about an hour before he was eventually allowed in? Two wrongs can never make one right. When people who are supposed to be role models in the society showcase acts of indiscipline, I'd never support that. We have seen a situation where a lawmaker in Rivers state used the maze of the house to "break" another lawmakers head right in the presence of the police. We've seen 7 lawmakers gather to carry out a Kangaroo impeachment (Ekiti). We have lawmakers who now have their meetings in the state governors office, just for the sake of shutting out the opposition members(Edo). On thursday a lawmaker threatened to slap the senate president. Even after the senate president closed the assembly, some lawmakers still went ahead to sit (showing great disrespect to the office of the senate president) My guys, this is not just about gate scaling or fence scaling, or party politics. It's about the mess that politicians are showcasing. Politicians now respect the law only when it favours them. There's indiscipline all around our political scene, I can't support something today and say it's wrong tomorrow. What happened on thursday was a show of shame on the part of all involved. Well, it's one out of the many show of shame. |
