A few days ago I had a discussion with a friend. Although I struggled to understand his point I don't wanna be left alone. Please feel free to contribute and give ur tots too.




After writing the hail Mary on my PM. A few was of d opinion dat. We r not sinners. In his words, we have been made righteous by virtue of christ death on the cross. Do u agree with this reasoning Then I asked him, a righteous man who dwells in sin is a wat?

1 John 1:8-10

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

This is always the ideology of those who believe the righteousness of Christ has been inputed on them therefore they cease to be sinners even if they live in sin. But that is something am yet to see where even the bible teaches or supports.

I think Jnrbayano has given relevant scriptures to the contrary, what the scripture teach is that we are all sinners, the merit of Christ's sacrificial death is to bring us forgiveness and reconciliation with God so that we go and sin no more , and not to go and dwell in sin because Christ is our righteousness.

But when we begin to live in sin the scripture says "Shall we continue to live in sin that God's grace will increase? Certainly not!........Rom 6:1-2

So dear you can see how destructive that ideology can be.


But then, that's the teaching we hear these days.
