ToyozzieTohBad:If you read this article with JUST A LITTLE BIT OF INTELLIGENCE,YOU WOULD SEE THAT THE CORRUPTION IN THE OIL SECTOR WAS PREVALENT LONG BEFORE 1999 AND WORSENED BY OBASANJO'S GOVERNMENT. But your rabid hate for the Otuke man will never let you be rational. Carry on, don't let the facts get in the way of your hate. |

Those who have eyes but can't see, they have ears but can't hear, they have nose but can't smell and still sing PDP, you're mortgaging.your future and your.children's. PDP has failed this Nation. Our Nation had 5 years of boom and never seen before income but it was never used for the people, it was not put into roads, hospitals, housing needs, industrial revolution, military hardware, territorial integrity, excess crude account, schools, ICT revolution and master plan, sovereign wealth funds, foreign reserves, Naira appreciation and strengthening, Ajaokuta steel and other Steel projects across the federation, build new refineries, the textile mills and other economic and valuable holdings that we can go back to in this present period of nothing and nothing. We had 5years of oil boom and we remained as we were in 2005, now that oil prices dropped for just 2 months all the cards crumbled and we are taken.back to 1973. Just Two Months. When the minister of finance said there is only $4.1bn in our Excess crude Account after all these years of boom, I knew Nigeria was in trouble, when I saw we had only $36bn in our foreign reserve I knew Nigeria cannot cope, now they have withdrawn $2.1bn from the Excess crude account and GUESS THE PRIORITY , Nigeria wants to BUY N9.2bn cooking stoves and wonder bags for rural women, ain't there genius in the leadership of Nigeria. |

We Gonna Boot that Cluelessness Nigga Out. And Put Someone that would serve as a Benchmark for Future Honest Leaders. Someone that would change the Rhythm of this Nation that "Honest People should be celebrated rather than Thieves" |

When these refined products reach Nigeria they were handled by local oil traders. The list of these traders is very revealing; as a substantial number are linked to ex-Presidents Babangida and Obasanjo or their immediate circle. Obasanjo didn't waste his time in immersing himself in that part of the industry. His son and the sons of some of the other politicos operated the fuel import business into Nigeria. To assist them the government paid the local traders a subsidy, a ‘fuel subsidy’ to keep the market price down for local consumers. These were substantial sums. And this old senile man call OBJ would not let the government of the day be. He who comes into equity must come with clean hands. Obasanjo hands are too soiled to even talk about good governance. On a serious note, we need a Jerry Rawlings kind of leader to clean up the system. That is gather all paste leaders from the 80's who has failed this nation, retrieve our common wealth they have stolen from them one after the other, after then, waste them all. |

EMANY01:Is the corruption still there? That's the most important question. People didn't vote in GEJ to be compare with other presidents or that, he was voted so lead the country and give the masses hope. |

ToyozzieTohBad:If you're not a fool, you then must be foolish. His having no shoe sure crashed the crude price. |

This country can only move forward the day Babangida and Obasanjo are packed off to hell. . For all their atrocities against Nigerians and nigeria, this two do not deserve to die naturally. A death by a thousand cuts fits appriopriately. To allow them to pass on without any querry will be the biggest show of cowardice for this over violated generation. |

EMANY01:subsidy under obj was 200B but it jumped to 2.6trillion under Jonathan. corruption in the oil sector quadrupled under Jonathan's rule |
| Re: Night Is Arriving In Nigeria Dr. Gary K. Busch by asala1: 9:28am On Nov 29, 2014 |
Ayoswit:Yes, that's another question. Nigeria wil only only get better when Nigerians start voting their leaders based on merit and credibility. Till then, let them keep suffering and smiling. |

EMANY01:You are right by saying corruption in the oil sector didn't start with the clueless one but what has he done to stem the flow? Remember that one of his promises before 2011 elections was to fight corruption. |

EMANY01:If you had utilised that same intelligence, you would have seen this in the write up.
This was a high reward for keeping the price subsidised; in recent years the range has been 400% to 550%. When the government tried to remove the subsidy from the fuel this would have made the heavy extra payments the responsibility of the consumers, not the government and has been a bone of contention on a regular basis. As recent parliamentary report showed that in the last two years the oil traders had siphoned off US$6.8 billion for fuels they supplied and often didn’t supply to the market.
|
