Also started seeing it today. But i think it indicates the number of new topics you've not seen on frontpage.

I was going 2 ask d same thing then I realised it just let's u know how much topics av been updated on fp that u r yet to see.

Its a wrong place to put such notifications. I don't want a number staring me as I open the website.

It can be moved under the Nairaland heading like the others.

Your explanation does not add up. No new topic was added in that 10minute interval.
