Its now 5days now that I've purchased a canon camera on OLX.COM which was posted by an anonymous but claimed his name was Niyi James Olalekan and Adedeji Johnson Bayomi.
Both of them claim to have their offices at Portharcourt, Lagos boarder, Akure and Ibadan.
They claim they've sent goods to some people who doesn't eventually pick their calls when the transporter get to their address and some of them don't even pick their calls (its their new scam scope).
He told me to pay #10,000 first so as to confirm my seriousness but I eventually send him 3k out of ignorance believing I've seen a cheap good which was like half of the money I ought to buy it.
Since 5 days now, he has keep posting me and I even told him to send my money back if his driver is not coming to my location again, all he will say is that I should go to bank and complete my payment (as if he put jazz for mouth).
I've also took some legal step to stop this kind of people in our community, his number is already with one of my friend in Mtn office and an sss friend of mine.
We will track him down and stop this two criminals.
This is the 3rd step now, the media power.
My Sss friend will soon post their pictures he gets from the Mtn guy online and police stations around.
Fellow nairalanders, just be very careful about this Naija online stores.

I quite agree with you that,there are.scammers on olx, but I.have to tell the buyers should be resonable,you can't imagine when someonne wants to buy somethings even less than halve price of the popular.known price.I.sold several products on so may websites and in major cases I ensure I get the money.before.sending the products.well,God will surely bring the scammers to book because they are not helping online market in.Nigeria,but buyers should also not be lookng for awoof! Please do not send money to anybody you met online without meeting physically to inspect what you are buying.

If the price is ridiculously low, it is possibly a scam. unfortunately olx cannot do much but you can still report the scam for the adverts with these numbers to be taken off to protect other people.

Someone puts a particular price for his good because he kno ws how much he bought. Forget about the ridiculous price. We should do everything possible to expose this scammers. Any way I sabi waste their credit.

OLX has been hijacked by scammers to the extent that when a serious seller comes up you will hear something like "this is not scam".

If u want to see serious scam enter the car section,there u will find car at r[i][/i]diculously low price.

Like Toyota corolla of 2million u find at 250k. To show its scam they start their name with custom this or that ( like custom mark is popular ) and they tell you to pay part of the 250k like 100k to be able to get papers for the car. Then they text u the account number and ask u to bring the teller to border

Sometimes, They will convince u that the car was seized and that the car will be yours as soon as the paper u pay 4is ready.

If u are moved by the pictures of new cars that they fetched from God knows where and pay any money ……hmmm they will never pick your calls again.

Sometimes,They will ask u if want them to bring the car to u wherever u are, if u say yes ....ehe...they will ask u for a fuel and commitment fee to show that u are serious like 10k. If u pay ...sorry.

Is a site wherein u flag a seller as scam but will wait for eternity before they accept your claims just coz dey are waiting for oda community members to flag is shit*y to me. I can only advise u to sell dere bt dont tink of buying except u meet d seller esp dox sayin its promo price or dey are custom officers
