hello guys, plz i want to connect laptop to the mixer console. actually i want to start record audio dirrect from the mixer to the laptop and later edit it. plz guys if you understand what i mean kindly help me out. its for my church

Go get a software called audacity I don't know if you can download it for free, search on Google.

There are 3 ways I can mention to u.
- You could use your laptops internal soundcard (line in port). Connect an output from your mixer (you will need a Y cable or phono to jack cable). You would also need software to record the actual audio. As u would be recording church services (at least and hour and a half) you would need at least 1GB of RAM on the laptop.
- You could buy additional hardware (Creative soundblaster audigy). This is a professional audio card that slots into your PC Card slot on ur laptop. http://www.creative.com
- There is a small box called Digidesign Mbox that connects to your firewire port on your laptop. The box does some processing so the laptop does less work. http://www.digidesign.com/products/mbox/
- THere is also another manufacturer of hardware devices (which I would recommend as you can choose your best workflow). http://www.presonus.com/

Pls i will like to use the guide one in doing dat but for now ma church is upcoming, how can i edit the recording after self which software i ma gonna used and how can i get self tutorial cd
