There are 3 ways I can mention to u.
- You could use your laptops internal soundcard (line in port). Connect an output from your mixer (you will need a Y cable or phono to jack cable). You would also need software to record the actual audio. As u would be recording church services (at least and hour and a half) you would need at least 1GB of RAM on the laptop.
- You could buy additional hardware (Creative soundblaster audigy). This is a professional audio card that slots into your PC Card slot on ur laptop. http://www.creative.com
- There is a small box called Digidesign Mbox that connects to your firewire port on your laptop. The box does some processing so the laptop does less work. http://www.digidesign.com/products/mbox/
- THere is also another manufacturer of hardware devices (which I would recommend as you can choose your best workflow). http://www.presonus.com/

Let me know if you have it sorted. I also do consultancy for video production and post production.
