Candidate
Via Leadership Newspapers
The Presidential ambition of former Vice President Atiku
Abubakar in Adamawa State has suffered a major setback
as his favourite candidate Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji was
defeated in Thursday’s party primaries by Senator
Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla.
Jibrilla defeated Mijinyawa repeating a feat he made in
the APC Primaries in the build up to the 11th October
botched by election making it the second time to defeat
Atiku’s favoured candidate in about two months.
Chairman of the primary election Committee, Abubakar
Yawe while announcing the outcome, described the
election as the most peaceful and transparent as all the
aspirants were satisfied with it.
He said four contestants participated in the primaries
“We have four aspirant as governorship candidates of
this primaries who alongside their agents assert all the
modalities employed for this primaries.”
Yawe announced that Dr Tahir Mamman got 17 votes,
Kobis Ari Thimnu scored 85 votes, Yayaji Mijinyawa
scored 1,183 and Senator Jibrila Bindow got total votes
of 1,880 while 24 votes were returned as invalid out of
