The rate at which the frontpage is updated isn't alarming, Rather the rate at which people rush in with their useless comments is alarming. What do you gain from being the first to comment? you just spoke my mind , sometimes I wonder what's the use of commenting when you have nothing meaning to say , the likes of just a dot or ok are the most annoying .

I think the front page should be updated 24/30 time a day. that's maybe updating after every 30-40 mins

Kind of funny, I had to re-check yesterday to be sure the actual site I was browsing if I have not navigated to a blog. I think the newly appointed Supermod still need some extra training in specific areas, especially people that don't have any tangible/sensible input to make should have their comments hidden.

It's not even just about the content but the pace. The threads are moved too fast. I understand the need to update the front page every now and then, but seriously it's not Twitter! Can you guys pls slow down a bit? I'm sure it's not a competition.

Honestly, I enjoy many of the topics but I get turned off when I log in and find about 15 posts on FP waiting to be opened. I log in after another 30 minutes and find 8. Hian! Perhaps, you guys just want us to skim through and spend less time here.

I agree with the OP.
Many people visit this site because of the intelligent comments they can get but when that is no more available, they will stop visiting and that results in loss of traffic (something that the admin desperately needs)

I've been working hard to motivate my staff to update the home page regularly. This is because I believe that more updates will make Nairaland more interesting. However, the perception that the home page is updated too frequently is there, and Iwill try to address it soon.

It is indeed making Nairaland more interesting, but it should be a fair balance from all sections, especially those that need a 'light up'.
