Oil subsidy rose from N300b to N2.3tn under Jonathan in six months – Amaechi

PORT HARCOURT:
Governor Chibuike Amaechi has lashed at the federal government for mismanaging the fuel subsidy program, saying it confirmed the high level of corruption at the centre.

The governor who spoke in Government House, Port
Harcourt, when he received a presidential aspirant in his party, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso who was in the state to seek support of delegates, also blamed what he termed the indecisiveness of the federal government for the worsening security situation in the north eastern part of the country.

“You are aware we met in the governors’ forum. Under Obasanjo, oil subsidy was N200 billion and rose to N300 billion. Under President Yar’Adua, it remained at N300 billion. President Yar’Adua died in 2011, six months of President Goodluck Jonathan, oil subsidy rose from N300 billion to N2.3trillion. You can ask him, it’s public knowledge,” Amaechi said.

Governor Amaechi charged delegates of the party to
ensure they worked for victory of the party at the general polls, stressing that there was need to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party.

He further assured that delegates of the party had resolved to work with any aspirant that would emerge from the party’s presidential primaries.

“Delegates of the party have all agreed to work with any of the Presidential aspirants that emerges as the Presidential flag bearer of the APC. I urge all the party delegates to be watchful and ensure total commitment to support APC to win the 2015 general elections,” He said.

and fuel scarcity queues in our gas stations disappeared!
you have a choice, spend less on subsidy importing a smaller quantity of petrol and spend days in fuel station queue waiting to fill the tank of your belgium or
spend more money on subsidy importing enough petrol for the nation's needs so people can go about their productive business.

And Diezani his frogged eye oil minister had a private jet hiring receipt for N10bn in 10months and she had the effontry to go block a probe into the deal.

His gele wearing finance minister said $10.8bn is unaccounted for by the NNPC and till date the money still remained missing.

They just love taking 10 10billion either in dollars or naira.

God only go punish all these thieves.

Sai Buhari, walahi they will vomit all they have stolen from our commonwealth..

even if u must be bias do it with sense. The subsidy increase form 300 billion to 2.3 trillion was of course just a bloated figure. in the process, 2 trillion or over was embezzled by Jonathan and his subsidy thieving friends.

and the subsidy scam is still ongoing as we speak. There is no way it won't happen, at some point in the future, Jonathan will answer for embezzlement, why, because his embezzlement are too big and therefore to glaring to be swept under the carpet.

when it comes to siphoning of public funds, Jonathan is a record breaker.

The subsidy payment in 2009 was N463billion.
In 2008, subsidy payment was N630billion.
In 2010, subsidy payment was N673billion.

It appears these devils in human skin cannot help but tell lies.

Subsidy payment fluctuates with international crude oil price. For instance, this year's subsidy payment will be nearly half of that of last year because of falling oil prices.

STOP the LIES now!

Squander everything on subsidy?
How come the amount triple under him?
How much do we need to build a brand new refinery if only a year's subsidy is in the region of Trillion plus?
Are one of the chop-chop team member?

Very easy.
Decide how much money you want to loot and call that figure fuel subsidy.
Take out your loot and name it subsidy removal.

If Nigerians truely were to understand the meaning of subsidy they would have started questioning why something can be removed without them ever witnessing it being applied.

Surely to remove subsidy you would have to apply it first which means Nigerians would have witnessed a reduction of fuel prices at the time the so called subsidy was applied.

Nigeria has never subsidised its fuel.

Where is the data for actual spending.?

Amaechi should present the yearly spending on subsidy and not quote confusing figures just to win cheap political point.

Also Amaechi should provide data concerning the average price of crude oil each year since 1999.
