Barely 24 hours after the Kano Textile Market was attacked by two female suicide bombers killing five people, the police in the city have uncovered and detonated a high calibre Improvised Explosive Device at Dawnau, a popular food market in the ancient town.
Eyewitness said the bomb was concealed in a sack that was hidden at the busy market.

The Kano police commissioner, Adelenre Shinaba confirmed the incident, adding:
“We have successfully detonated the bomb and I can assure you that we have restored normalcy to the market.”

Meanwhile, the Imo State Police Command says it has defused two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planted at the Kilimanjaro eatery located around the Ikenegbu area of Owerri, the state capital Wednesday night.

Conducting newsmen round the scene, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali disclosed that a distress call was put across to the command around 9:30pm Wednesday night by the manager of the eatery informing the police about an item suspected to be an explosive device within the lobby of the eatery.

Immediately on getting the news, the bomb squad of the Imo State police command was drafted to the scene and after several hours of probing, it was confirmed to be an improvised explosive device capable of causing serious damage to lives and property in the area.
Abdulmajid Ali, who said the police responded immediately on receiving the bomb alert, disclosed that the two IEDs were carefully planted in an air conditioner unit at the lobby of the eatery and the other behind the gas cylinder outside the lobby.

I'm sorry to admit, but the recent upsurge in bomb activities in Kano (an APC stronghold) makes it hard to believe the PDP is not a stakeholder in BokoHaram Group of Terrorists (Un)limited.

Gombe, a PDP stronghold in the northeast strangely have been immune to BokoHaram activities. Whilst not wishing evil on that state, it can only beat one's imagination how that they are so unaffected by the terrorist activities within their neighbouring states (which I learnt they are very geographically close to).

#No partisanship intended, just observing and wondering aloud.
