To calculate this and get better figures , one needs to find the ratio or percentage of registered citizens to the no of criminals. Then Nigeria wont carry first again

The UK Home Office is silly. When you calculate the population ratio in relation to the number of criminals, Nigeria is the lowest ranked. Ratio, not number should form the basis of their calculation

If you look closely at the figures, you'll realise that though the number of Nigerians who have been said to be criminals may be the largest among other African countries, Nigerians ratio of criminals to residents is actually the lowest.

I also believe that the number of Nigerian achievers in the UK would surpass that of all other African countries put together!

Going by their records, I will say Nigeria has the least percentage of criminals - 0.78% while Algeria leads by 3.38%. The truth is that Nigerians are law abiding outside Nigeria, and it's wrong for people to keep tagging us criminal.

832 out of 106k.. abah! considering the high population [if truly we're that bad] we should be between 1000 and 2500.. according to those stats, an average Nigerian is a law abiding citizen in the UK compared to others

I applaud your observation....you guys were able to simplify the Statistics. In Statistics, you can interpret your figures and defend your conclusions whichever way you want.

We need to look at figures, ratios closely before jumping at a convinient conclusions. Shame on Home office trying to bad mouth Nigeria. Yes, we have the highest population, however it does not mean we have the highest number of crooks statistically.

Unfair reporting there.... While it is true that we do have the highest number of people in UK prisons, a comparison of the ratio of Nigerian prisoners to the total population of Nigerians living there is actually smaller than all the other countries...

If they reviewed the stats and present it in either ratio of population: criminal or in percentages, you'd be surprised Nigeria actually ranks among the lowest in terms of foreign criminals in the UK. Somalia should top the list considering the ratio of the population to criminals, not Nigeria.
This is a numeric fallacy trying to give bogus explanation to simple numerals.
