I guess i'ld have needed little persuasion but I feel that since God's money isn't being used the way God wants it then, God will not bless such giving.

During last month's Let's Go a-fishing, I wondered why the money being contributed to missions isn't being 'seen'.
SUMMARY:
The world is swallowing up the church and the Church is leaving the important things like righteousness, helping the needy and fatherless & getting beautified.
Let's keep praying for all people like the Bible says.

Just give one instance in Scriptures where Christ, Apostle Paul or the early Christians practised firstfruits. Just one.....

We as christian have the right to know what a pastor make with the money he get from his followers.

No pastor has the right to take the money and put it in his pocket.

That is what the pentecost/carismatic prosperity gospel preacher will tell their followers.

We christians are the church and so every christian is a member of the church and has the same right than the pastor.

'For God so loved the world that He gave....' In fact, you can give without loving but you cannot love without giving.

Secondly, you may ask but God is not in need. True. He is the Author and Creator of all so why are we asked to give. Because God wants us to be partakers of His nature which is love thereby expunging from our system the worldly way of lust and greed. It is a platform of opportunity. It is a theatre of proof that one has escaped the power of satan that desires us to accumulate more and more. All great men of wealth and power in scriptures were tested. Some passed, some didn't.

Thirdly, Cain brought pickings of his huntings and Abel, produce of cultivation because those were the jobs available then. That was the currency of exchange. In the New Testament Peter offered his boat to Jesus as an offering. He was a fisherman. Jesus watched as the poor widow threw coins into collection. She was able to monetise her offerings. No one stops you from bringing whatever you wish unto the Lord but in these days of a unitary system of exchange in commerce and enterprise the easiest (for you the giver and the receiver) way to offer value will be through money. As in tithes it is quantifiable and best represents the produce of whatever effort God has enabled you make at work.

Even if you were a farmer today I doubt if you will take kindly to your boss paying you in catfish, eggs or ugwu leaves.

God does not need your money/cash. IT needs your service. You can throw away your money to your pastor, it won't and doesn't count but the happiness a fellow human gets for making him/her happy goes a long way.

You call pastor robbers? who made thee judge over Israel? i guess you should be aware that even the called men of GOD has be insulted by your very self? that is why they are poor,jobless, sick and hopeless. you don't give 10% of your income neither do you give first fruit> it is written honor the lord with thy substance and with the first fruit of all thy increase so thy barns be filled with plenty and thy press shall burst out with new wine. I know in thy limited knowledge, you will say it is old testament but you will join to say Abraham blessings are yours. Be wise and don't destroy your live with careless statement.

The bible said we are a peculiar people, a royal priesthood, a chosen generation,.,....... And we have a high priest which is Christ, He is also the head of the church and He has admonished us to be test every doctrine that is being preached against what the bible say. It is good to give, infact the bible commanded us to give, the bible said we should watch out for these people who preach false doctrine and run away from them. When Jesus was in the world he never enriched himself or his family in fact His father remained a carpenter till he died, Jesus never considered earthly things, because what is ahead is greater than these vanities men are running after. what i'm saying is these men have en massed riches and set themselves above their members, they have employed body guards to make sure those whom God wants to save can not reach them for an assistance in anyway (i.e understanding the scripture). Give and let it be borne out of your heart. Let us not let these earthly things bring destruction to us like Lot's wife. Amen

The office of a Pastor is not a professional career , it is a service to the church of God. Pastors/elders in the early church worked and held down jobs. If they did, then so should modern day pastors.

Paying tithes to a church is illegal according to scriptural truth.

"For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales and lay them at the apostles' feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need.…" - Acts 4:34-35

Note :

1. It was the haves who sold their property and lands and brought the money to the apostles feed not the have nots
2. The Apostles did not count the money in a hidden room and put it into a bank account
3. The Apostles actually distributed ALL the money to ALL those who had need so that there was no needy person among them.

Bottom line : If we are tithing, sowing seed and paying firstfruits to these churches and there are still needy people among us, it is because the MOG and Pastors are thieves and robbers and misappropriating the funds for their personal empires and pockets.

Stop bothering about who I give my money to. Give your money to whoever you want while I do mine. It works for me. If people didn't give to the church,the church wouldn't have had a property to buy for us to worship in,they wouldn't have had instruments with which service is conducted with,etc. God will not jump from heaven to build a churxh for man to worship in,he won't come down from heaven to donate drum sets and equipments,etc. The needy can't afford to put these things in place,the needy can't afford to give pastor money for church decoration for christmas,etc.

Paul once boasted that he knew the law better.."Pharisee of the Pharisee, teacher of the law " so he understood the concept of tithing & first fruit more than anyone else

How come he missed it in teaching it to the gentile whom he introduced Christ to, a race that knew nothing about Christ or even the Old Testament practice?

If the tithing/first fruit is as important as it is being preached today, how come Paul, john, James or peters(authors of the epistles) didn't mention it for once?

the summary for giving for the Christian is embedded in 2 cor9:7

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver

tithing & first fruit goes against the bolded, the church is the one proposing for the Christian & not the Christian setting out what he/she wants to give!!

If only you guys know how personal I take this topic. For many years whenever any pastor of any Church calls out for donations, seeds, tithes et all I always comply not until I had a privilege of knowing and getting close to a person who works directly with a renown G.O of one of the biggest Churches around, did my eyes open to this folly and great deciet from them pastors. I mean this guy does no other job yet he is rolling in the kind of money that even a manager in the bank can only dream about.
My brothers and sisters it is time we open our eyes. Give to the poor instead
