Op, I think you should call customer care and find out what is wrong with your line. We all cannot be wrong; everybody that commented here discredited your claims.

I still believe etisalat has the best internet speed among other networks. I'm a strong etisalat fan for that.

@greyblood ..thanks for the advice jaree. I have actually done that before posting this, this post is a result of that call.
And 5 different people agreed and even thou some still abused the post they agreed with it without know. E.G . Giving a special APN to 2go users, or saying that they only charge money when u have airtime(brainless abi ... When make dem charge b4?)
And I didn't say that the network was slow... Infact I believe that they have the fastest network in nigeria now (amongs d big 4), and the best customer service as I said they have the shortest respond time( calling their customer care is like making a private call to your girlfriend

I DOWNLOAD, WHATSAPP, FACEBOOK, USE OPERA MINI, UC BROWSER ETC. the only thing u can tell me is that they will be deducting ur airtime wen u have any! But with N0.00 u can surf any site and use any application even stream sef with ur BIS. I used to download from YOUTUBE and FZMOVIES then. So please make a good enquiry first before coming out public! Most of this our CUSTOMER CARE AGENTS doesn't know anything about their work especially the FEMALE ones! they will even end up confusing u more!

I really don't comment much here but I have to throw in my 2 cents. Like you I have used etisalat BIS for the 4th year now and to be honest they have the most efficient network speed and has good spread. And let the poster be informed that due to NCC directive etisalat and MTN co share network facilities . So any where u see mtn network, look well you 'll most likely also see etisalat.
The problem is that the OP had some network issues just like we all do once in a while but instead of sorting it out he is playing the blame game.

1. 1st mistake he made is believing and quoting the customer care agent as if their word is final. Most of them know very little and are somewhat dull and un-trainable . You give them a complaint, instead of sorting it out they try and find a way to tell you that it's your fault. Most time I end up teaching them. So , once you call and the cc agent is sounding dull . Drop and keep calling till you get someone that know their onion. I had issue like yours in february , I called and they kept telling me 3rd party applications, I kept calling till I got a geek that knows his onion who fixed it for me. That period, all of a sudden they started charging mr for using whatsapp, opera mini, facebook etc. But Since after the geek fixed it, all those charges has stopped.

No shame in saying this, I have 4 etisalat sim cards, I for my BB,s5,modem and tablet respectively. I use them cos they are super fast and efficient. I have tried but no other network gives me excellent skype call and network quality like etisalat.

I also have tried but in about 4 years , I have only finished my 3gig BIS once, even tho I download movies from moviesmobiledotnet , download youtube and other vids . I also browse and send mails all day since my BB is my preffered handheld device.

About hotspot, normally BB platforms worldwide hardly allow you to create hotspot. Anyone that does is just doing you a favour. Even a couple of weeks back in the U.S, at&t wouldn't allow me create a hotspot on my s5 even tho I had unlimited data subscription that should work on every device.
My point with this long story I told here is for you to keep calling their cc till you get someone that can solve your problem cos most of these complaints u have do not happen normally.

And by the way , if you want to download youtube vids, go to ( en.savefrom.net/ ) put in the youtube vid link there and u can download it for keeps on your phone.

I used Etisalat bis plan on my BB. Last month I downloaded the full Season 1 of Devious Maids frm my 3gig. I still pinged, browsed, used all my Apps without incuring any Extra charges...unless that useless MTN Bis.

1. Most of the data you use on your bb is being routed through the BlackBerry servers which offers enhanced data compression which benefits both the user and the network provider, that's why you have a datacap of 3gb. It in generosity. Only if you're a heavy downloader will you finish this. If you open third party applications, this data is routed through the network server hence the reason why you're charged at times eg streaming YouTube wld tell you additional network charges may apply. If there's no credit available on ur line, your services don't stop working. They still run on the network anyway.

2. As I stated above it depends on the server available to process your data. Sometimes the bb network data is not available to process your request then the phone auto switch (all BBS do this) to the network APN to send/receive the data. This at times is what zaps ur credit Lil by Lil 5k/KB. A call or visit to them to disconnect you from the network APN and place u in the blackberry APN alone will solve this but this will mean ure at the mercy of blackberry servers to process ur request all the time.
Most data monitoring apps focus on the downloads acrued by the phone but do u know for every data downloaded, data is uploaded. But I wld like to tell u that that 1 mb for 1.5mb is a little bit distorted. All data run at the same pace no offpeak/onpeak.

And I used to run out my data without hotspot u know how... Movies, softwares etc.
Even at the end, its 2.7gb at d end of the month.

Is your bb carrier dependent ( sprint, version, at&t, etc)..
If it's not, then you shouldn't encounter such problems. Though I believe your claim about the credit deduction..It happens to most peeps using the curve 7 series(not all).. but I'm not sure about the 100mb-150 Mb claim sha.
