The Senate yesterday urged the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) to employ all administrative means possible to ensure all internally displaced persons(IDPs) vote in the 2015 elections.

In the same vein, Senator Ali Ndume ( Borno South) lamented that disenfranchment of IDPs call into doubt the legitimacy of the forthcoming elections adding that Afghanistan, Syria, Cuba,Iraq have all incorporated IDPs into the electoral system.

This resolution was sequel to a motion sponsored by Senator Ali Ndume titled, “Electoral Act 2010 amendment bill.”

LEADERSHIP recalls that there are fears that the insecurity in the north east which has led to many internally displaced persons in the region may disenfranchise some voters.

The motion originally a bill was converted to a motion on the grounds that passing the bill into law before the general elections next year may not be feasible adding that the INEC can make this happen administratively.

That is good, every nigerian has the right to vote and be voted for. But any politician who bombs Nigerians and expect them to show back and vote should forgerrit . Life first.

The same Internally Displaced Persons that have not yet been "Re-placed" back to their original homes are now seen as pawns in the hands of politicians to be used as rigging election numbers seeing that no one would be able to verify if the votes of the "displaced" people are over-inflated or not.
