The federal government yesterday approved the sum of N57.34billion for the rehabilitation, construction and review of various roads across the country.

Supervising minister of information, Nurudeen Mohammed gave the hint after the last Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting before the yuletide.

He said FEC awarded a contract for the construction of the outstanding section of Onitsha-Enugu Expressway, Amansea-Enugu in Enugu State in favour of Messrs RCC Nigeria Limited in the sum of N24.243billion with a completion period of 36 months.

Briefing journalists after the FEC meeting, Mohammed said there was a budgetary provision of N400million in the ministry’s 2014 appropriation and N11billion under SURE-P 2014 appropriation which is enough for the takeoff of the project.

GOOFDUCK, KEEP AWARDING MORE ROADS CONTRACT.

WELL DONE.

BUT PREPARE YOUR HANDOVER NOTE, SO WE KNOW THE STATUS OF EACH ROADS CONTRACTS AWARDED.

WE NEEDED ONE POINT AGENDA (POWER), YOU ARE LEAVING US WITH LESS THAN 2900 MW.

YOU TOLD US 4 YEARS WAS SIGNIFICANT TO MAKE GOOD PROGRESS.

THE ONLY PROGRESS MADE SO FAR IS THIS.

1. I BOUGHT MY PRE-PAID METER AT 55,000 NAIRA.

2. I STARTED WITH 250 NAIRA FIXED CHARGES IN 2011, RESIDENTIAL R2 CONSUMER.

3. I PROGRESS INTO 500 THEN 750 NAIRA IN 2013.

4. I STARTED WITH 10.33 NAIRA PER KWH IN 2011.

5.THE TRANSFORMATION AGENDA TRANSFORMED THE RATE FROM 10.33 TO N11.37 per kWh AND TO N12.54 per kWh in 2014.

6. I AM SUPPOSED TO CONSUME BETWEEN 100 TO 125 UNITS IN ONE MONTH.

7. BUT I CONSUME 250 UNITS IN 4.5 MONTHS DUE TO EPILEPTIC POWER. MY GENERATOR PAID THE BALANCE WITH CONSUMPTION OF ABOUT N 32,000 WITHIN THE PERIOD.

THIS REGIME HAS REALLY TRANSFORMED MY LIFE AND THAT OF MILLIONS OF NIGERIANS.

The amateur blog muddled up the article.
The 36 months completion period is for a road linking Kebbi and Sokota state, it was also announced on the same day.
