Nigerians say GEJ is a weak President cos they are used to decades of military rule that was characterised by dictatorship,bellicosity,aggression,war- mongering,man-handling,etc. The effects of these decades of military rule in our lives are still impacting negatively on our psyche hence,GEJ's government is termed "Weak". You do not expect a civil individual with the highest level of education to rule like an illiterate soldier or an ex-soldier in civilian attire. To pro-GMB: What evidence do you have to prove that GEJ is weak? |

how weak can a leader be? It took him more than 10days to believe Chibok girls were kidnapped. |

Tattooboy:Concerning that, no govt accepts the reports of media houses without doing fact finding to verify the news of that magnitude. What bothered me most was the fact that the correct report was killed along the chain of command so as not to reach the relevant authorities on time. Remember that the terrorists used the noise of the Abuja Nyanyar bombing to cover their tracks. It was not until recently that I saw on nairaland that some security personnel were found guilty of culpability in the issue. Guess even the govt made their trial low key so that investigations as to their involvement could proceed undercover without alerting those responsible. Normally govts would have used the info of their capture to score political points but this was not done so even to counter the noise of the inactivity of the govt during the #Bringbackour girls campaigns. @topic the fellow that could undermine baba iyabo in the pdp is certainly NOT a weak man. |

teemy:Boko haram Loss of the country's territorial integrity Daily Killings in the middle belt Hyper Corruption Lawlessness Damaged economy Destroyed governmental institutions Budgets which make no sense Post like this which makes no sense. Using religion to divide the country Unruly aides and officials in the presidency reducing nigeria to an object of scorn and mockery on the international scene. Before questioning other people's attitudes and opinions. MaybeThe first thing to do , is to question yourself. Paraphrasing Tell us why do you think GEJ is a strong leader ? Why does he deserve your vote? What has he done for you? |

oduastates:- Boko Haram: I dont understand what you mean by Boko Haram. But I want to assume what you mean is his inability to nip boko haram in the bud, right? Now,I want to tell you that: 1. boko haram has more sympathisers in the north than any other part of the country. The fight against terrorism/insurgency is not one man's thing to do rather,it should be a collective effort..I heard the case of a group of soldiers who chased some members of BH to a particular village in the north and the people there were shielding the BH members from being caught...In this instance, what do expect the president to do? He should bring down the whole village and not minding the collateral damage? 2. Northern politicians/leaders have vowed to use the insurgency to bring down GEJ's administration.Reason they have condemned every attempt by GEJ to fight insurgency. They say it's a fight against the north. - Loss of the country's territorial integrity: I think this has been explained under boko haram. - Daily killings in the middle belt: Are you still hearing of that today? The security operatives have put that to check. - Hyper corruption: This is a perennial problem in,not just Nigeria, but all over Africa. It didn't start in GEJ's administration,so why do you have to use it to discredit his administration? If you say GMB is not corrupt, what about those fronting him in the party like Tinubu,Amaechi,Atiku,Bisi Akande, etc,?Are these ones not corrupt?Has Tinubu not mortgaged Lagos state? - Lawlessness: Like seriously?Where? You blaming GEJ for the lawlessness in your area, bah?? - Damaged economy: Nigeria's economy was adjudged the number one in Africa under GEJ's administration...Or do you want to blame GEJ for the fallen Oil prices which resulted in the devaluation of the country's currency.Even Russia and many OPEC countries have devalued their currency... - Destroyed governmental institutions,Budgets which make no sense,: Please,be specific on these ones. - Using religion to divide the country: In what way has GEJ used religion to divide the country? Were there comments or actions from GEJ which incited these allegations?? - Unruly aides and officials in the Presidency,Reducing Nigeria to an object of scorn...: These allegations of yours just show that you have sold your soul to supporting GMB and that you don't want to see any good thing to pin-point about GEJ's administration. |

everyone has the ability to look and decide what to see. this in some cases lead to blind arguments irrespective of obvious facts. whoever leads this country would have headaches but not play the past leaders blame game because the eyes were opened. |
| Re: Why Some Nigerians Say GEJ Is A Weak President. by teemy(m): 4:56pm On Dec 26, 2014 |
also as individuals we should not put our blame on everyone else but ourselves. within the sphere of what God has given us to govern we should live as one who would give a steward's report daily. that sphere is your country to rule - mr/mrs president |

@topic, none has yet given any valid reason to the wrong perception of mr president being weak but i could lend some. the drive to remove any and all who underperform within their area of capture is weak. fire defaulters and make them examples. |

Hemanwel:This is a pathetic response, really! Jonathan himself said boko haram is in his government, and to date he has not found, sacked or put them on trial. Is that a sign of strength or intelligence? The violence in plateau and surrounding areas is still a threat. Ask anyone from that area, and don't repeat empty words. Jonathan had to be pressured to sack Stella Oduah, gave Alamiesegha presidential pardon and returned properties bought with funds looted from Bayelsa state funds, supervises the fuel subsidy scam, is depleting our foreign reserves for no reason and sacked a cbn governor who spoke out about corruption in government. He has also given EFCC to his wife to manage, so it is effectively dead. The prosecution of the nyanya bomber is a shambles, ffk is negotiating with EFCC and ubah of capital oil who is on trial for subsidy fraud is also organiser of TAN, so please excuse us if we say Jonathan is a friend of the corrupt and a beneficiary too. Which minister stands out for excellence? Only the agricultural minister seems to have made a mark. What kind of useless executive can that be? Obviously one with the appropriate 'tool' at its head. How many pdp States governors are lauded for their governance? The same president that recognises the governor who got fewer votes in the governor's forum election as the winner? Do you really need me to go on? Immigration recruitment deaths, and no one is sacked, pension fund fraud... |

or alternatively there is also the school of thought that he is as a strategist just bidding his time till a more appropriate time to strike all of the nation's filth at a go. |

Change2015:You are so dumb, man!Putting Nigeria's perennial problems that have been on since Independence as GEJ's weakness is not only unfair but wicked! Like someone said above, none has yet given any valid reason to the wrong perception of mr president being weak. |
| Re: Why Some Nigerians Say GEJ Is A Weak President. by Change2015(m): 6:04pm On Dec 26, 2014 |
Hemanwel:Thanks for the lame response. #fail Oduah has been minister since Independence? Boko Haram has been here since Independence? EFCC has been here since Independence? Fuel subsidy scam has been here since Independence? The violence in plateau has been going on since Independence? You sad sad person. Ordinary Nigerian history is beyond you apparently. |

Change2015:Is Stella Oduah still a serving Minister today? Was she not sacked? What's your point, man? Like I said earlier, the northern leaders/politicians up north are not helping matters in the fight against insurgency.I hope you are not suggesting that GEJ deploy more military hardware/personnel to exterminate the whole north in order to put an end to this insurgency? When OBJ created EFCC to tackle corrupt politicians from the opposition, you lots were screaming blue murder..If GEJ was doing same to fight APC politicians (in which he has the power to do so),what would you have said? Give me your facts about the fuel subsidy scam. The Jos crisis in which President Obasanjo declared a state of emergency in Jos and installed a Military Administrator..was GEJ the President? I expect you to start attacking with falsehood now. |

Hemanwel:How long did it take to sack Oduah. Did she not follow him to Jerusalem to 'pray'? Is that how to tackle fraud in government? Isn't she now a pdp candidate for the national assembly? As for Ubah of capital oil https://www.nairaland.com/1990732/why-did-jonathan-return-capital The same president follows Sherrif to meet the Cameroun president and closes the airport to all but him, provides him with security the people if maiduguri don't have, while he is facing accusations of being an early boko haram sponsor? So why can't Jonathan let EFCC do their job properly, or is that also beyond him? All you have are pitiful excuses for his incompetence. Ozugo biko. |

In Nigeria's democractic history from 1960 - 2011 apart from Nnamdi Azikiwe and Tafawa Balewa, there only two individual leaders who stand out as REAL DEMOCRATS. Both individuals had no military background. Both govern democratically observing the principles of democracy and the Rule of Law. Both were not dictators. Intrestingly, Both Presidents were regarded as weak. Why were they regarded weak? Because they govern Nigeria on democratic principles, defending the constitution and observing the principles of separation of powers between the three tiers of government. Who are these individuals? They're Former President Shehu Shagari and current President Goodluck Jonathan. |

Change2015:You call your President a weakling cos he didn't sack a then serving minister when YOU wanted her to be sacked?? Maybe if he had been wielding his power against the opposition and to oppress you lots for calling him names, you wouldn't have branded him "weak" but then, what is power without control? I rest my case here, bro, cos it's certain you have nothing significant to allege against this gentleman called Goodluck Jonathan. |

Hemanwel:You are a fool to give me a rod for your back. Exactly what does Jonathan control? According to you TANdroids, he is never responsible for anything from security to education to management of the economy, but you say he is in control. Even patience, does not believe that. I don't care if he is a gentleman, we need an inspiring leader who has integrity and is not thirsting for riches or women his position now gives him access to. We want a leader who preferably does not fall asleep drunk, even when out of the public eye. We want a leader who is firm in challenging our vices as a people. I hope you see why Jonathan is not the man of the hour for most of us. |
