The last is yet to be heard of Chime's inability to actualise his senatorial ambition. He appears to have turned to vent his frustration on his kitchen cabinet and Mrs Nwobodo, the power woman and Chime's strongest ally is billed to taste a bitter version of Chime for being part of Chime's woes, even though she also failed to clinch her own ticket. Madam or "mummy", as she then was known, was also touted as being most loyal and competent Chime's kitchen staff. In fact, she was so powerful that the entire Chime's success in the administration was attributed to her famed administrative acumen. Unfortunately, today she is being blamed squarely for the many failings of Chime especially his inability to maintain much needed interface at the national level, the lacking essential ingredient for political success which eventually led to Chime's final political doom. Ifeoma Nwobodo was like a monster created by Chime. He used her to subdue everybody and the woman made so many enemies. I often wondered how she was going to make it through the general elections because she was so hated in Enugu. Chime placed the office of the chief of staff above his deputy and the secretary of government, Amaechi Okolo shivers when talking to her and openly addresses her as "mummy". Chime encouraging or allowing her to go for the Nkanu senate seat was meant to spite his predecessor, Chima and (as he initially planned it), to also demonstrate his political strength over and above Chima. He meant it to be his final political signoff, but alas, it was not meant to be. Chime has ended up as a very inferior politician when compared to Chime, now that he has failed to ferret himself to the Senate. Now that things have fallen apart, Chime is looking for a scape goat -someone to blame for what he created in the first place. That's cowardly. In his second term, he supervised a government in which virtually all cabinet members where contesting one post or the other: He was vying for senate, his deputy was also eying senate only to clash with madam chief whom he had reserved the senate seat for. The party chairman was going for governorship only to later step down and head for house of reps. All the sins of Chime's commissioner for land, Emeka Ujam was overlooked because he had pencilled him down for House of reps in Nkanu. His man Friday and chief gossip, Jude Akubilo was gunning for house of reps Udi/Ezeagu which Commissioner Chijioke Agu and Commissioner Joe Mmamel were also eying. Meanwhile Gov Chime was quietly, behind, preparing some of his inlaws and relatives for some of the posts, like in Awgu where his son inlaw, marrying his first daughter was pencilled down for house of reps, another in law and local govt chairman, Ike nike was also going for rep seat in Iiuzo while his nephew who he made deputy speaker of the state house of assembly was to be uplifted to take Enugu north/south rep seat. Chime proved himself an opportunist and lead even a greater band of opportunists. Summary, government performance suffered, not much progress achieved beyond paving roads. And what is the result? With many of them working at cross purposes and undermining one another, they all failed! Next, they will start to expose themselves -all the inner dealings and shenanigans. Its just a shame |

She impeached the most peaceful, respectful deputy governor of Enugu state based on very flimsy excuse because she was afraid he will run for the senate. I am not to judge any body, but rightly if anybody takes a voluntary resignation from an office, the one by all means should also return every bit of official property in the one's possession that belongs to the establishment where the one worked; but for an individual to be in possession of such a number of vehicles at a time, to me is questionable.
