Nigeria is a secular state but it doesn't prevent citizens from going to church on Sunday. GEJ goes to church every Sunday. If you are a pastor and the president shows up in your congregation, won't you give him a few minutes to talk to the people? And if you are the president and you are given a chance to talk in church won't you at least talk about national issues?

I think your fears are unfounded. It is not like the president was presenting the annual budget in church or something important along that line.
