Lol , I think they should review the Health sector scheme. To me apart from the passion most people always harp on, such profession should be able to put food on one's table. I don't believe in average living. After all the stress , Call up and lack of time for one's family one will still end up receiving a peanut as salary. To me Medicine is only sweet for those that had attained the position of consultant who are receiving N700,000 above. And u know what it takes to get to a consultant position. It still requires many years of studies. Seriously Med Docs deserve a very extremely fat salary to compensate for all the stress but the system is not helping matters in Nigeria making alot of Zealous Med Docs to get frustrated. House officers shouldn't be receiving nothing less than N300,000 under normal condition. God will help us

Hi,Where are you doing your internship? did you do clinical in school? what level? what is physiotherapy like?
Re: Do You Regret Studied/studying Medicine??? by iwriterng(m): 10:23pm On Dec 28, 2014
I think high school graduates are always too young to decide if medicine is what they really want to be committed to for the rest of their life. Hence, medicine shouldn't be a first degree, but rather a second degree.

Developed country adopt the second degree system, because by then, student know the magnitude of what they're getting themselves into. In a country like Nigeria, the issue of job security comes first before satisfaction and happiness, it should however be in the other way round, because a sad doctor can't treat a happy patient successfully.
