Duru1:the pictures in the link below show they got more than assistance and moral support. They got military support too. forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=179878 |

It is an established fact that Nigeria lost more soldiers than Biafra during the war. A former Biafran soldier told me that Nigeria was Biafra's biggest supplier of weapons. Dead soldiers cant shoot. Any outside help had minimal effect. |

eighTHREAD:chaii!!! LoL....these boys won't kill me......so those were the support the biafrans got? I wish the federal troops got what the biafrans got while the biafrans got what the federal troops got then maybe we won't be talking about the biafrans loosing the war......most countries that supported either did so through relief materials, food and probably ammunitions....but not in the scale in which the british and the russians supported the nigerian troops......having mercenary support doesn't mean a battalion of soldiers would be used.but their expertise.....having a mercenary could mean one,two or even 3 soldiers....so stop talking as if they supported as if they backed us 100%......am still waiting for the GERMANS,sPANISH,ITALIANs.......that supported the biafrans..... |
| Re: Biafra: Was Gowon Clueless? by Nobody: 5:48pm On Dec 31, 2014 |
meccuno:pls be honest for once. I gave you proof from OBJ's book and wikipedia about the countries that supported biafra, you claimed they did but not militarily. I provided pictures from a link to buttress the fact that they did militarily and all you can say is the above trash? Na wah for you o! Just accept defeat once and for all. |

NAIJASOM:When you lost 3mm women and children alone, where do you think the men went to? They were dancing in the village square and drinking palm wine or they were sent to the world of no return. Keep your lies to yourselves. You were resoundingly defeated. |

Make sure you have Biafra in your topic if you want your thread to grow. |
| Re: Biafra: Was Gowon Clueless? by Nobody: 6:00pm On Dec 31, 2014 |
customized13:Not exactly bro! I did not up Biafra on the topic so as to grow the thread. I just raised an important issue. Nigerians rallied round Gowon to crush Biafra, instead of sabotaging him and calling him names, But here we are, they tackle Jonathan, left right and center.. Complain about every move he he makes and blame and yet blame him for the activities of Boko haram, Was Gowon blamed for the activities of Ojukwu? |

eighTHREAD:let me refresh your mind once again if you didn't actually read the post and source you sent to me.......the reason for the mercenary was as a result of the kind of training they had in Guerrilla warfare which the prestigious SANDHURST didn't provide.sandhurst was among the best military training school around then which gowon, and ojukwu had the privilege to attend......they knew that they couldn't stand the army which had enormous support from britain,russia.....so they had to fight using that method hence the need for these mercenaries.....the so called GERMANS you referred to was actually an individual who didn't have the backing of his country as you have made us to believe.....most of these mecenaries came on their own....without the support of their countries...there was even a british dude who fought on the side of the biafrans......but for to write GERmans, spanish, italians like as if they supported like the british did to the federal troops shows its either you didn't completely understand what you read or you are trying to be mischievous.....and please be careful when replying me....I don't know what you mean by "trash"...or do you think am ignorant about the things that happened? |

eighTHREAD:u provided pictures of MERCENARIES.......the americans "supported" the israelis in the 1948 war of independence......but didn't provide any form of military support not until the arab israeli war of 1973.......and for your info, the jews smuggled american jewish pilots to fight during the 1948 war.....does it mean america supported them militarily because they used american mercenaries?? U are obviously ignorant to say the least......I have read volumes of materials about the war and you are here trying to misinform people by saying "because they had italians, germans, spanish, isreali mecenary,it then means biafra was helped militarily by their countries of origin".......I can't help but laugh |
| Re: Biafra: Was Gowon Clueless? by meccuno: 6:12pm On Dec 31, 2014 |
eighTHREAD:there is no need for the insult please......these country didn't support Nigeria militarily.....its best you research more....I don't have time for abuses.....pls |

Mckennedy:Why did you not declare Biafra under Ironsi? In Your usual greed, you were enjoying the unitary system you created through your coup that killed the leaders of other regions, to control everybody else, before the counter coup. If there was no coup, there would not be a counter coup, there would not be mocking of the deads by your people that led to the pogrom and there will not be a declaration of secession, talk less of Aburi meeting. |

This thread is being derailed folks! I asked a simple question: nigerians supported Gowon to crush the Biafran rebellion, why is Jonathan not being supported to crush Boko Haram? It is on record that at his declaration of state of emergency, somebody said, he had declared war on the north! Why the hypcrisy? |

noblezone:are ibos supporting jonathan to quench boko haram? When that australian mention ihejirika and all nigerians called for his head, we all know how you guys fought tooth and nail to ensure he was not probed, GEJ also didn't act like he heard. So stop being hypocritical. When stealer oduah was proven to be corrupt, we still remember the role ndigbo played. You expect nigerians to support a clueless president who fails to nab corrupt officials to stop boko haram who is better equipped? |

meccuno:Who executed the coup? Who was the benefactor of the coup, that became president? Why was any Igbo leader not killed in the coup? ---- One was with a visiting Ambassador and the other was on an unending medical trip. |

eighTHREAD:Ihejirika has taken the Austraria to court. let him come and prove his case that Ihejiririka was sponsring Shekau. I still remember that the North was accusing Ihejirika of genocide based on his tough stand against Boko Haram. You are the hypocrites. |
| Re: Biafra: Was Gowon Clueless? by Nobody: 6:54pm On Dec 31, 2014 |
noblezone:the sensible thing to do is to verify the australian's claims. Did GEJ do that? Yet you expect nigerians to support a president that doesn't take action. |
| Re: Biafra: Was Gowon Clueless? by Nobody: 6:55pm On Dec 31, 2014 |
Kenai:it is an issue because it a divisive statement which shouldn't come from a president except he's clueless. |

eighTHREAD:Stop reasonning through your anus. In 2011, Buhari promised to make this country ungovernable for GEJ if he(Buhari) losses the election. True to his words, he engaged BH after he lost. The same group of terrorists nominated him (Buhari) as their representative to broker a truce with the FG. Today, the same Buhari is telling us that he will talk to his boys if elected president and their terrorist activities will stop. For me, BH is a grand plan and strategy to stop GEj; and it will never happen. |

The funny thing is that the hausa\fulani whom the igbos wanted to seperate from aren't even talking as much as their brothers in the SW..........them come carry am for head.......now the same thing is repeating it self again.......buhari and osibanjo.....and the same SW is preaching the gospel like as if the presidency has been zoned to them......if eventually buhari wins and decided to set the country ablaze, they would as usual try to look for who to blame.....the igbo's |
