I personally don't care about whether Buhari has certificates or not but the law is the law.

What PDP should realize however is: it says a lot about how much Dr J has disappointed us that we would take a closer look at a man (GMB) we have rejected three times. At this point, it's safe to say that many people want ABJ (Anyone But Jonathan).

Personally, I have misgivings about GMB, but the much I can say for him is: he is a honest man, and has the strength of character to project himself on the polity/nation. When you combine that with the willingness to appoint smarter heads than his, and allow those heads perform (see Idiagbon, T) you have the makings of a good president.

Dr J on the other hand, I have no way of knowing how corrupt he -personally- is, but the man is weak, doesn't appear particularly smart, and lacks charisma. Other than IBB, he is the head of state under whom corruption has had the freest stroll through the corridors of power. It doesn't matter how fast you pour water into a bottomless pit; it never gets filled. The corruption and impunity in Dr J's government has knocked the bottoms off, and render everything else moot. We are tired of this crap. I am tired of this crap.

For me: a Nigerian president:

1. Doesn't need to be the smartest , but he MUST be a good judge of character
2. Must above all else, have strength of character (and by extension, must be able to lead)
3. Must be honest
4. Must be able to select an excellent team, but be ready to project his beliefs to "keep them honest"

Some untruthful Buharists will say, afterall, Buhari studied in the UK and USA. but they fail to understand that those were military studies, never formal educatiom. Govt can send a school drop out to UK or US training centre to go to learn a trade, including training to be a soldier, when the person passes the training, the certificates issued can never substitute formal primary or secondary education certificate. The certificates Buhari acquired from thse military training courses can only be kept by the Nigerian Army which sent him to the training, the certificates are property of Nigeria Army, never to be kept by Buhari. What Nigeria's constitution and INEC required from Buhari were his Primary and Secondary School Leaving Certificates, and possibly, higher education certificates, not certificates from military training.

The irony of the whole scenerio is, during those period, majority of the soldiers recruited around 60's and 70's do not have certificates most expecially the northerners, they came in through voluntery services and climb through the rank by attending courses and training, therefore i will not be supprise if buary didn't have an Academic certificate, even if he doesn't have GCE atleast he must be affiliated to a particular school, let him write to his school, and let his school write to inec officially, logically, he shouldn't have involve the Nigerian Army, because the army did not send him on an errand, if you don't have your certificate, just write to your school and let your school release your transcript to your employer not disturbing your former employer over your predicament, assuming your prospective employer requested for confirmation/recommendation letter of former appointment, you can then refer to your former employer. thanks.

I had a standard education that a contemporary Nigerian youth can attain. Me,you and many others must stand up for what is proper and civilized irrespective of APC/PDP fued. to the contrary, exposing him will be an opportunity to send a message that if corruption was hitherto allowed in the army, it is no longer allowed.
