A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, says only the PDP can bring change to Lagos State.
George said the state had been experiencing
underdevelopment and massive corruption but change was imminent.
He said this during a meeting with journalists on Monday.
According to him, “Here in Lagos, we have made the right and the wise choice in our party. The choice of Jimi Agbaje as our governorship candidate is a shining of light over darkness. It is a triumph of the truth over falsehood; it is a noble attestation of the voice of the people affirming itself in vivid largeness.” George said the state had generated trillions of naira between 1999 and 2014. He, therefore,
wondered where all the funds had gone.
He said “Here in Lagos, the PDP has listened
and affirmed the choice of the majority of
Lagosians. Yes, Lagosians want change. We
want a change from the the self-centred 16
years of prodigal cronyism to selflessness, God-
fearing and people-oriented governance.
“ Lagosians want a change from cold-hearted,
selfish and indifferent acquisitive power-
mongers to a government that protects the
interests of the people and appreciate the fact
that power must always be used with discipline
and utmost sacrifice.
“We will ask them to account for the over
trillions of naira generated as revenue in the
last 16 years, we will ask them to tell
Lagosians.”
Stating the need for Lagosians to vote for the
PDP in next month’s governorship election, he
said “our campaign will be based on truth and
observable logic. We will engage the APC on the
high moral ground of polished enlightenment;
we will offer sound vision, selfless service and
missionary sacrifice.”
George called on the national leadership of the
party to revisit the just conducted governorship
primaries held across the country by setting up
a committee to look into other methodologies
to handle the fallout of the primaries which has
led to defections in several states.
He said “The PDP needs to revisit the process
of our primaries. The National Working
Committee of our party, in conjunction with the
Board of Trustees must set up a committee to
look into the primaries.
“We must revisit the primaries. It is a clarion
call and I will make the move because it is not
good for our party and it may cost us a lot. We
are all aware that those in the opposition
usually select their candidates but we in the
PDP do not indulge in such. I am hoping that
we will be able to calm all the frayed nerves.”

Lagos State alone is richer than Kenya but the state Infrastructure is in a sorry State (Roads, Water Supply) etc. The roads they built have toll gates. Lagos State cannot domesticate the FOI bill. Its only in Lagos of all human settlement worldwide that survival of the fittest is still being practiced if you doubt me come and check how the thousands of Agberos in Lagos earn a living and everybody know that Agberos are a product of APC.
