shamecurls:Votes for Buhari are votes thrown away. The Law is an aaaass. The law has caught up with Buhari because he cannot qualify for election without satisfying the law. To prove that Buhari passed through formal education before going to War College wherever, he has to show his school leaving certificates to the authorities as required by the law. If a govt sends a school drop-out to go to New York college to learn plumbing or to military training, and the drop-out finishes and gets certified, the certificates can never substitute school leaving certificate for compulsory and basic education; such certificates from plumbing or war colleges do not make the person not to remain school drop out. |

The guy Buhari no get certificate! He's an unlettered bigot! EOD Basically PDP is right, APC is presenting a semi-illiterate to contest as President in 21st century Nigeria, where are are millions of certified capable Nigerians even in the APC itself? Is this not nonsensical? ![]() |

As stipulated by the Nigerian Constitution, any seeker of the office of the president must have attained the equivalent of a secondary school certificate before seeking office. Chapter VI of the constitution makes provision for educational requirement. 131. A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if - (a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth; (b) he has attained the age of forty years; (c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and (d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent. Note that Section 131(d) of the constitution simply states that a person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if he/she has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent. The operative word is “equivalent.” Note that the constitution does not stipulate six credits or any number of credits as in the case of a university entrance requirement nor does it say a candidate must have sat for WAEC examination. It simply says equivalent. Anyone who completes a secondary school of education will satisfy this requirement whether the person passes with 2, 5, or 10 credits or fails woefully is irrelevant. What is important is for the person to have completed a high school equivalent. In the era of Buhari, once a person completes a formal high school education, a diploma is issued to the person regardless whether the person sits for WAEC, GCE or Cambridge examination as it was in that period. Was WAEC even in existence during that era? External examinations conducted by WAEC etc are mainly for post high school entrance requirement. Here are the facts concerning GMB: 1, We know for a fact that GMB attended Barewa College where he was a school prefect. He had been listed as a notable alumni alongside other notable names like Ribadu, Sanusi and many others of that school before all the distraction; thus, we can infer that GMB attended high school up to final year of secondary school as only final year students are normally made prefects. As far as the constitution goes, GMB satisfies Section 131d of the constitution. Note –we are not talking 6 credits or F here. 2, We also know that GMB attended Military college now known as NDA. This is a post secondary education by any standard. For the fact that, GMB attended a post secondary institution and completed the graduation requirement of that institution, and was commissioned as an officer validates his candidacy without any ambiguity. 3, We also know that GMB attended several military institutions that are post secondary school level. Some of the courses he attended are deemed to be equivalent of Masters degree level. There is no doubt that GMB satisfies the constitutional requirement of Section 131d. All the noise is to divert attention from real issues to intangibles. To suggest that Buhari does not possess a secondary school equivalent with all of his academic credentials is preposterous to say the list. I’d like to hear substance from both parties rather than all these distractions. Constitution lawyers in the house are welcome to dissect Section 131d of the Constitution for us |

It mostly likely Buhari used fake/forged certificate to join the military, otherwise why can't he simply ask WAEC (or whoever) for a reprint? There is definitely more than meet the eyes! Mr Buhari is perhaps a fraud, a cheat, and certificate forger! |

grabs:The point is that he doesn't need to swear affidavit. He can get a reprint, or even use the copies available with the Military! Swearing affidavit all these years simply means he has something to hide! |

My vote is ever for Buhari, I dont mind the propagandas “The online controversy is uncalled for because General Buhari is a man whose antecedents are well known. His integrity is not in doubt, he is known for transparency and due process. We are in the age of search engines any effort to goggle General Buhari’s credentials will yield the required results. “He attended Katsina Provincial School where he was a school prefect and Head Boy before proceeding to the Nigerian Military Training Collage which was later renamed Nigeria Defence Academy, the records are there. “There is no how he would have proceeded to the academy if he did not have the requisite qualifications from the provincial school. Haven attended defence school, he attended several military institutions at home and abroad including Anderlecht in the United Kingdom, other military institutions in the USA and India. These records are there. I want to disabuse the minds of Nigerians that those peddling campaign questioning his qualifications are engaging in an enterprise in futility because it is a non -issue” www.thisisbuhari.com |

There is not fire without smoke. If we follow sequence of events, Bhuari is probably hiding something or not telling the truth. I think it is pure dishonesty on the part of Bhuari (because his handlers are now claiming it was destroyed by the military? really? Why didn't he say so all this while in his affidavit, so that a copy on military board will suffice) It is the constitution that demands it, oh I forgot Bhuari is a coupist, he doesn't follow the constitution or is a Fulani Born to rule, how dare anybody ask for his school certificate after all he has been a military head of state before ( he didn't need a school certificate then since he has guns) In 2003, 2007 , 2011 and in 2015 Bhuari kept swearing to an affidavit that his certificates are with the Secretary of the Military board. Questions: 1. Are they the originals with the Military board, and what was the originals doing with the Military board? Is it the same for all Army officers? 2.Why did he not Just say the originals are lost like SAMBO's were lost in fire? 3. Is there something unpalatable in the certificate that he seek to hide, like he failed most of the subjects but that he was promoted 'on federal character' The failure to be honest is more damaging than what is or may not be in the certificate. It is always also an indication that he is not different from all other politicians. It reminds me of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky saga. The denial is the offence and not the act. The act May be immoral but not illegal. The lie on affidavit has become the offence. My own opinion and conclusion is that Bhuari is a power hungry person and have no respect for the people or the constitution. Once a coupist criminal, always one, nothing has change and nothing will at 72 years old. |
