I noticed too. Global news don't feature so much on nl and when it does, ppl are either uninterested or too ignorant to comment.

Because the moderators are mostly JAMBites who are more interested in pictures of P-Square, Flavour and Fally Ipupa, or rubbish stories about Tonto Dikeh's gorilla-faced boyfriend dumping her.

Seun really needs to do something about this. His site is fast going to the gutters with the amount of rubbish topics that grace the frontpage (Who Wore It Better? See DJ FloatingTestes' New Car). If you're going to swarm the place with that junk, why not at least balance it out by assigning SuperMod priviledges to posters in the Science and Foreign Affairs sections too? So many good topics just waste in obscurity while TRASH about some 15-microseconds-of-fame celebrity's Instagram selfies assault our eyes.

Did you know I had to start harrassing the moderators with spam mails before that thread of mine about Jonathan's academic paper made it to the frontpage? And it was only 4 days after I had created the thread.

there was riot in Kano over a cartoon in France if am not mistaken ,this is the same news house that had a hand in that cartoon saga, pushing this issue forward may resurrect that other one and it may not end well.

I think the quality of content on Nairaland needs to be controlled. If you compare the topics and comments on telegraph or huffingpost with the ones here, youll understand. Topics should be well scrutinized perhaps edited before they are allowed on the FP, the way you edit newspaper articles. I hardly find anything relating to science, or history, or culture or international politics here anymore. It's all celeb gossip and tribal politics or gender bashing.
I think it goes to show what interests majority of Nig Youths
