In need of expert advice on what to do. My car, a camry '98 model has been making a whirring sound for some time now once the engine starts running. It is only perceptible in the cabin, not noticeable outside even with the hood open. I have taken it to mechs, says its not big deal, but the noise is becoming annoying.

check d bearings holding d alternator/ac compressor belts. I strongly suspect one is bad

u may need to tighten the belt connecting alternator etc as well

might be loosen!

You are at the point. I had similar problem with my 2004 camry recently and had to search forums. I narrowed the case to my ac clutch bearing. Went and bought rachets, swivel joints and sockets and changed the entire ac compressor neatly and every thing is intact.
