GEJ and his administration seem to be learning from Tinubu's successful revenue collection system, implemented in Lagos and many other states. I wonder what took them 6years to do this. Barawos
And where did they say that it is against the law to learn from others?

Tinubu is now a good man because he's fielding your illiterate brother,a failed military dictator who doubles as a kidnapper.

The thunder that would fire you come February is still in third mainland bridge traffic.

GEJ is plugging loopholes and curbing corruption intelligently while buhari's understanding of anti-corruption is jailing ppl aimlessly without trial and witch-hunting his political enemies like obasanjo did.
that is the difference between a graduate and a stark illiterate.

Chai! This is wicked!!!

Wrong time to effect this in my own opinion. You are just going to stifle banks' income and push them to laying off their staff earlier than necessary.

Your PhD Jonathan ended up with a stark illiterate wife, how do you explain that? is it that they have a lot in common or love is just blind?

What Nigeria should be doing is targeting diaspora transfers that can be in excess of $45billion a year through special instruments. Our human resources abroad make more foreign exchange than oil and gas makes for us locality and also many things are possible if only the man were really bright instead of bringing ideas like stealing N65 from cross ATM transactions.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about concerning the Oil & Gas revenues to Nigeria and saying diasporan transfers can surpass it!
I guess those in diaspora will be living like beggars, almajiris, touts and agberos because they want to send money to Nigeria, a place without SYSTEMS and where we live in a LAWLESS jungle shocked

No wonder you support Buhari, another person who does not understand the fundamentals of our economy!

ur academic factor means nothing when it comes to picking a lover, because jonathan is caring enough to overlook her imperfections and focus on the things that matter.

but ur "anti-corruption" saint buhari is the same 1d1ot who happily served under nigeria's most corrupt administration (abacha), comes out to openly declare that abacha never stole any money, dines with bola tinubu and romances with atiku, but claims he is an "anti-corruption" agent.

Muhammadu buhari is a walking contradiction and an unapologetic hypocrite. The people actually dumber than this man are his supporters.
now, take that one to the bank.

This policy shouldn't have taken any serious government two months to implement. Now he has done it after six yrs, he should double up in the area of sending corrupt people to prison. In the fight against corruption, appearance and body language of the state is as important as the reality of their policy. Nothing will discourage a corrupt parson more than the threat of 20 to 40 yrs in prison. This is how serious countries like China, U.S.A and others have been doing it and the result is there for everybody to see. Humans are animal by nature, if there is no strong sanction against corruption, even this policy will not succeed.

This is going to knock out a number of banks. To be honest with you I don't like the new CBN governor. He lacks foresight and is very parochial.

What did you expect from a man GEJ brought ?

Sorry, do you mean the ones collected by numerous Agberos and task forces in Lagos?

Back to topic. It is more economical to block avenues of corruption than spending more money prosecuting those who benefited from the porous system.
A commendable policy I must add.

We are together in this. The country is riddled with very porous system up to the Constitution.

As much as banks will be affected, does this not spell more job loss in the sector?

On other words, fighting systemic corruption leads to job loss, abi?

i heard indians and chinese working in nigeria pay their taxes in india and china
This is not totally correct sir, they might be required to pay some taxes in their home countries according to their laws, but first, they must pay their COMPLETE taxes here first.
There are 3 conditions for a foreigner to be tax exempt in nigeria;
1. they do not stay more than 180 days in a year,
2. their contry has a double tax agreement with nigeria
3. their earnings are not charged to an entity in nigeria.

note that all three conditions must be met.

@ topic, this is the real fight against corruption, strengthening institutions and blocking all loopholes.

kudos to Gej

Are you implying that Prof Wole Soyinka or Pat Utomi can consummate with a Patience Jonathan? you cannot be too sure, it takes like minds to attract each other, dumb people are more likely to end up together, don't be surprised that Jonathan may not have noticed how dumb his wife is, until Nigerians made it obvious?
Why did he allow the wife to be making public appearances at the onset of his administration but disappeared immediately the elections were close? he just realized how dumb his wife is, it takes a dumb person not to know that for so long.

but ur "anti-corruption" saint buhari is the same 1d1ot who happily served under nigeria's most corrupt administration (abacha), comes out to openly declare that abacha never stole any money, dines with bola tinubu and romances with atiku, but claims he is an "anti-corruption" agent.

Bola Tinubu is not safe with Buhari, mark my words, I am still not convinced Tinubu really wants Buhari to win, in his heart of hearts, Buhari may just be a Bargaining chip for Tinubu who will most likely cut PDP a juicy deal as the Election draw closer, I and other sane Nigerians want Buhari not Tinubu. Buhari romancing Atiku? are you h0rny?

It depends on the level of information you have and its veracity, since the campaigns kicked off, I have challenged a lot of people here to sane discussions and each time, I am forced to conclude that the Nigerian internet space, is filled with dumb people.
I am sure that most of you here may not know the color of our national flag, let alone dissecting political events of 1997.
I will likely have that discussion with your dad not you, it will save us a lot of time and energy.
Buhari reigned supreme over the biggest challenge of the Nigerian society, only a dumb person doesn't know that.
