You're right, the main reason both candidates are not concerned with campaign in the North is because almost the whole Northern Nigeria is for Buhari. GEJ don't have any hope in North. Buhari is playing a very smart game here, he knows already that the North is a very soft landing for him. So he wants to first weaken GEJ in his stronghold bases, that is pure politics.

Buhari will campaign in the north, next week is for the South-west while the north is the last leg of his campaign
