@OP,

You try BUT you can do better than this on a great race like Yoruba. Many of the things are common to many African tribes.

Ododuwa is NOT the progenitor of ALL yoruba. Ododuwa lived barely 800 years ago. Yoruba have been in SW 9ja at least 2000 years!
Ododuwa consolidated the region and brought it under his control via his sons who became Obas in various parts of Yorubaland. From Oyo to Owo. He certainly was a great leader.

He is the cultural & socio-political ancestor/leader, not necessarily biological.
I'm one of his biological descendants. And within 9ja, they are many outside today's Yorubaland: Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, etc.

As it stands, one cannot limit Ododuwa's influence/people to Yorubaland only.

Now something unique: Yorubaland has the highest frequency of twin births anywhere in the world. Missed opportunity for twin/medical research.

Just think of how many Taiwo, Kenny and Alaba you've come across.

You are right they are too ethnocentric that they see themselves first as Yoruba before Nigeria and this is where i ask the question, is this "Nigeria unity" possible?
