He is not forcing Obasanjo to love him, he is only trying to be on amicable terms with the man he has a sense of gratitude for - considering his role in making GEJ president.

I think GEJ is just being too nice and too grateful. Let's not forget that someone also installed obj in office (IBB), and we all know that Obj hasn't shown him much gratitude till date. GEJ should learn to shun the old attention seeker and concentrate on more important things. .
