Civil rights groups and political parties have berated the Federal Capital Territory Administration for budgeting N4bn for the construction of First Ladies’ Mission House in Abuja.

They said that the N4bn budget was a demonstration of the Goodluck Jonathan administration’s penchant for profligacy.

The N4bn proposal was contained in the FCT’s N253bn budget for the 2013 fiscal year currently before the National Assembly.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Emma Eneukwu, in Abuja, on Sunday, the All Nigeria Peoples Party described the budgetary provision as illegal, corrupt, and unpatriotic.

It said since the Federal Government had earlier declared the mission as a non- governmental organisation, it would be inappropriate for the same government to spend public funds on it.

The statement reads, “Our party believes that the matter is a non-issue as the budget for the complex is inherently illegal and should not waste the time of the distinguished senators in their work.

“The fact on ground is that the Federal Government has already declared that the African First Ladies Peace Mission is a non-governmental organisation and could not be funded with the taxpayers’ money.

Telling women to go on strike on cooking is part of Jonathan's idea of empowerment and how clueless is that?
Many wives and mothers I knew are proud to pound yam to nourish their families irrespective of the background, education and job and takes pride in it.
And now he is making pounding yam as something demeaning to women?
It shows that his wife no longer take time to cook him whatever his favourite meal is, which only a wife will know and how he likes it best.
Because they are surrounded by servants paid for by the public, he thinks every family or women can stop pounding garri?
Many professional women all over the world had temporarily or permanently left careers in order to raise families or pound yam in Jonathan's world.

Buhari is not a messiah. Buharists who give him wings and a halo are doing him disservice. Buhari for me is a reset button. He is a stop-gap. He is some guy who can say "No", steer the ship aright and not squander his goodwill. He knows this is his last shot at it.

No matter what you say about Jonathan..he is a 512 RAM guy with a 10 Gigabyte job. He does not have the required capacity and has not developed the capabilities required. He was never prepared ..despite his automatic promotion through the ranks of mediocrity and after six years...He is still a learner. Nigeria is reducing geographically and economically under his watch. BH controls more local governments than Ekiti State. Our markets have lost almost a Trillion naira in 2015....seven days. He cannot give what he does not have. He is not a man who thrives in complexity. ...A simple good man who should enjoy his spoils in retirement. Buhari will not perform magic ..but. ..Jonathan will ruin this nation.
