Well, Bishop of Enugu havent made any statement yet... So for now, no sanction. But me no see reason for sanction...

I see it this... Take a look at the chorus...
O Lady of fatima hail, immaculate mother of grace, O pray for us, help us today, the hope of human race.

Frm d chorus...
She is the mother of grace cos her son is Grace in Himself... And then you are pleading to her to pray for you and help you...
In essence if you are truly her son by following the teaching of Christ then your salvation is sure... Cos if Mary should help and pray for you just as she did in the wedding of canaan... Then I see no stumbling block to your salvation except your sins...

The bold is the ish here, but will that cause a convert or a catholic for that matter to be denied any aspect of the sacramental life?

a total rejection of "devotion to mary" is sufficient reason to be denied the sacramental life.

It is not a must one says the rosary, but devotion to mary and the saints is an intrinsic part of catholicism.

That line I believe is pregnant, but as Rich4God said, I believe it has more to do with her maternal interccession on our behalf and a steady motherly guidance and the "do whatever he tells you" direction, which if we heed, will not mislead us.

As an individual, he didnt... But as a priest standing on the pulpit as at the time of his statement, its kinda awkward talking down on a leader in a childish manner.

Even as a priest I won't be too bothered if this has always been his stand, my worry was the fact that he praised the president when his wife came to the prayer ground but barely one month later he said the opposite. If he said his later comment was a massage from God, where was his first praise from?. That made him seem like a double edged sword, and was probably doing some eye service the day the first lady visited. Smh

my problem is not in d "childish" manner he spoke, there is canon law against priest in politics, on two occasion he tries to preach politics from the pulpit, first he say to vote for jonathan (d man wey e say God dey e back), then he says there is need for change. A priest should never attempt to politicisied his sermons like that, giving prophesy to politicians on election outcome and calling another party "bokoharam party".

All those deserve to get him sanctioned, but i believe he and the enugu bishop are pals, besides he gets support from many in the enugu prebyterium. He pulls enough influence to give a bishop nighmares. I don't think he will recieve any sanction.
