Performance been below par, primarily due to injuries.

- Performance in the UCL
Performance as expected.

- Any sales/purchases in the summer (a bit early though)
I'd rather talk about the previous summer not next - it was a reasonably good summer by Arsenal standards - no major departures (bar Sagna - a big miss) and significant strengthening. Clearly another CB should've come in but didn't - that's the main failing.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by pickabeau1: 8:02pm On Jan 17, 2015
injuries have been a major factor yes
I think this team can make it to the Quaters..after that ... lipsrsealed

Last summer was good..yes

But we have departures i think (Flamini, Arteta, Campbell?)

What is your outlook for the top 4 positions... can u hazard a guess

Summer's too far away but I can tell you Arteta is going nowhere. Wenger is probably waiting for him to return from injury before announcing the extension.

Top 4? It might go down to the wire and only the top 2 can be considered safe.

I dont think Man Utd will finish above us. They have seen their best, we haven't because Ozil and Walcot just came back. During the run in we would overtake them.
In fact I fear Southampton may take fourth. I also don't think Chelsea will win the league. Mou has been using the same first team- fatigue + injuries are waiting for him.

Now you're going to ridiculous lengths to justify your baseless statement. Sanchez became available and so was signed? Before nko? undecided Is it unavailable players that you sign? huh Were Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira 'well settled' in their clubs before Arsenal bought them? undecided

Were we given Sanchez for free or did we pay money for him? You claim Wenger doesn't like to buy expensive players yet he bought Sanchez and you go into a song and dance about 'being available'? undecided

Can't you admit your initial statement has no basis in fact?

What is this 'whatever it cost' rubbish? Benatia was sold because Roma needed money - what hand twisting bollocks are you on about? And in what world is Benatia now 'world class'? huh

Arsenal needed a goal keeper and went and signed a highly rated goal keeper that performed well at the world cup - or wait, Ospina was unsettled too. Arsenal needed a RB to replace the excellent Sagna and went in for Debuchy - or wait, Debuchy was injured too and cost nothing even though he was bought for £12m showing Wenger doesn't like to spend.
Like your prof of failure, you live in the past. Gone are the days quality talents come cheap, football has moved on but you and your failure prof are stuck in the past. The french market is no longer open to your failure prof only, PSG is a big player there now, add that to the fact that every tom, dick and harry now know the value of french league players, the exact reason why Arsenal was priced out of the Hazard deal by Chelsea, and had to settle for a cheaper Carzola.

Players of the quality of henry and Viera don't come cheap any longer, your penny pinching failure prof can't have them again, many teams now have good scouts to spot them as well as wenger, and then outbid wenger for them.

Sanchez came to Arsenal because he prefered London city to Liverpool. Your penny pinching failure prof couldn't match Liverpool's offer for him, and would have lost him to Liverpool if Sanchez was money driven or if Liverpool were based in London, your senile god wenger lacks ambition.

Benatia is a top defender,a world class material, from udinese to Roma, and then to Bayern sloting straight away into the Bayern team, he was in Seria A team of the season in 2013/2014 and is set to do the same in Germany.

Ospina was just a decent Goal keeper. How many European heavyweight were in for his signature and we outbidded them for his signature? It's obvious that you are beginning to share in the senile one delusions.
Even our own Enyeama was ranked higher than Ospina in Brazil, Ospina was ranked 9th, Enyeama 4th, Ospina was cheap, that's why your penny pinching failure prof went for him.

Debuchy is but a decent player at best, not the type of player an ambitious club with title aspiration signs as a first team player. He didn't even make premier team of the season, he was a typical wenger mediocre signing. How many of the European heavy weights were looking for Debuchy's signature? Can Debuchy slot into Chelsea's first team, let alone Madrid and Bayern ?

Its gonna be a long window grin

[Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says it would be a gamble if the Gunners did not to bring in a new defender this month but that his side would cope.
The Gunners have frequently been left short of defensive cover this season with the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Kieran Gibbs, Nacho Monreal and Mathieu Debuchy all suffering injuries.

"It is risky [not to sign anyone] - too risky," said Wenger.
"If we have another injury or two we will struggle."
Debuchy is expected to be out for another three months after surgery on his right shoulder, leaving Wenger with only six fit senior defenders at the club.
"We can cope because we have [Calum] Chambers, [Per] Mertesacker, Koscielny," said the Frenchman, whose side face Manchester City on Sunday.
"But we have now lost Debuchy who can play centre-back, Monreal who can play centre-back and Gibbs has been out too.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of central defenders in the January transfer window, including West Ham's Winston Reid and Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels, but Wenger says it is difficult to sign quality players.
"Why have we not signed a defender? We haven't found one. We are not the only ones working on the case," he said.
"It is not a supermarket where you go in and buy a defender. It is a market that is very restricted. The players who can strengthen the best 10 teams in Europe, you don't find many and it is the same for everybody.
"We are a big attraction, of course we are. If it was easy we would do it.
"We have made enquiries but then you have the second handicap - who wants to sell their best player, especially a central defender, in the middle of the season? They say, 'come back in June or July'."

Is this suppose to be a question? I mean, his impressive stats that made him to be sought after by European heavyweights like Bayern,United,Madrid, and even Arsenal, the same stats that made him part of Seria A team of the season, is now dependent on me watching him?

The senile one lacks title ambition. Don't hold your breath for any top signing.

Fourphy is enough for him and the deluded fans.

A tough one for any manager to choose between Ozil and Cazorla, Ramsey and Rosicsky, Walcot and Chamberlain. I went for the formers.

For those Arsene Whiners, let me advice you once again: Arsene has just signed a new contract till 2017, so you have 3years to whine.

About buying players, we have a tradition.
Full stop!

Those who spend are under UEFA sanctions, they are cheats.

With time, with our new stadium, with Arsene, we would make enough money to start spending without incurring any sanctions. After that we go invincible again.

So all ArseneWhiners keep quiet or get off our Emirate.

ONE ARSENAL- ONE INVINCIBLE
