A silent revolution is taking place in Lagos. Everyday, thousands of Lagosians are escaping the hustle and bustle of Lagos traffic by traversing the mainland in the
new air condition Diesel Multiple Unit trains. These trains were introduced by my administration as a fore taste of our plan to develop an inter and intra city high speed train network for Lagos. The Federal Government has already signed a $1.5 Billion contract for the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan Express Train. This service, when complete, will make it possible to live in Ibadan and work in Lagos. This is progressing simultaneously with the $12 Billion Lagos-Calabar coastal rail project.
This project is 1,402 kilometers long and will link Lagos to Calabar with stops at cities along the route. We have good plans
for Lagos, plans that will ensure that Lagos continues to be the Center of Excellence and a pride to Nigeria.

What trains please? Thousands of Lagosians? What route do these trains take? What time do they run? Where are the stations? Don't you think some information is needed before you say thousands are taking trains everyday because I haven't seen these trains. The only one I've seen was on Agege motor road close to GRA and even that had a lot of people hanging from the sides of the train. I'm hoping those are not the trains we're talking about because this particular one looked old and ugly.

Hummmmmmm! the cost of the proposed project would have increase by now due the fall of Naira against Dollar. Also, with the fall in demand of crude oil, the main stay of our economy, it difficult to fulfill such white elephant project.
