I remember when I had to start this probability course in Electrical Engineering, everybody was hyping the class, saying that the average is always around 50-60 and that only a few people crack the class.

I just looked at them with one kin eye, though I did let what they were saying seep in, but not the fear. In response, I promised myself that even if it's only a single page of the probability text book I read every night, I will do it.

So that's what I did, I read at the very least, one page every night, doing examples at least 2-3 times and when the test results came out, I scored a cool 100%(no joke).

Respond to your fears with some action, less they consume you.

Yea...the fear of failure is a very good emotion. It sends a signal/message that one should prepare well for something. Infact, all fears are action signals. The more we ignore the signals, the more it intensifies.

@op, i think my biggest mistake was pessimism. I always read hard but i always thought that i wouldn't get excellet grades. It really affected my result. I know better now.

I thought a first Class required you to make 100% in all courses but when I was told it's 70% I said I'll hit it. I wanted to know everything I was taught. It paid off but I couldn't make a First Class after Pride took over me in 200L. Ended with 4.23

they might fail in their first year but go on to succeed in life, school is nothing but education is everything and you can be educated without entering the four walls of any institution, after all life is a school. Tertiary institutions are overrated, the entire system is bleeped up and it is churning out bleeped up graduates. I raise a glass to all those who failed in school but went on to become successful.
