Nollywood Star Actor Muna Obiekewe died on sunday being the 18th of Jan 2014 after battling with Kidney Disease, although there was cetain rumours that he was still alive as was reported by an impersonated Twitter Account, but on comfirmation he was actaully dead. now there are more to the Gist as regard his death.

According some of the posts by his Colleagues in the industry we can deduce that the Veteran Actor who is survived by his wife and children died as a result of his inability to pay the exorbitant cost of Nigerian Health care as regards his situation. According to sources Muna did not open up to anyone in the industry about his health situation, and he needed only N50k for dialysis per day and Muna allegedly could not afford it.

Reacting to his death Uche Jumbo, Mike Ezuruonye, Stella Damasus and others who confirmed and other Nollywood Acts who confirmed his death made it known that they were all in the dark as to his health condition. Even Nigeria’s Actors’ Guild president, Ibinabo Fiberesima, was unaware of the actor’s illness before his sudden death.

Some of the actors and actresses confirmed from their posts also that the film industry in Nigeria is no better than a ‘make-believe’, as everyone is just content with the publicity and showing off involved in the business. Actress, Ify Okeke made it known that there are no real friends in the industry. although Muna did not open up to anyone in the industry about his health situation, most of our actors and actresses prefer showing off to helping fellow colleagues.

Dunno wat 2 say..wil blame his wife 2 an extent..even if ur hubby tells u nt 2 tel d public abt his health, won't she ve at least gone behind his bk 2 seek help frm his colleagues?instead she choose 2 keep quiet abt d whole tin. Anyways d deed has b done.may God help us all

I use to like this guy,he should have opened up who knows, someone would have given a helping hand.

I hate it when people die because they can't afford money they would definitely make if they remain alive.

I think celebrities should invest in health insurance. I don't know much about insurance in nigeria, but it should be affordable to them given that you pay once per year.

You never know when you'll need it.

What if the guy decided to stop paying for his treatment so when he dies his family can have more than enough to cater for themselves without having to beg... We never can say

But now this tragedy has happened, i suggest that the Nollywood president should set up a scheme 'that every month at least, actor/actress will conduct general health check up'

He died with no shame or embarrassment dat was why he smiling when he died. RIP Muna.

Hmmmm.... They'll support their fellow artist when they wanna get married coz they know they'll still be there when it crashes. Once it comes to issues about saving life, it becomes a show off for them like they ar shooting a movie.
