The All Progressives Congress (APC)Campaign Organization said it would hold the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accountable if any thing happens to its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
The organisation made the comment in reaction to a front page wrap-around advert on Monday’s edition of some Nigerian dailies where Nigerians were asked to choose between life and death.
The sponsor of the advert grouped Buhari among former Nigerian leaders who were either killed or died of natural causes while in office.
“This is the height of desperate tactics by the PDP, which is capable of degenerating into unnecessary bloodshed and destruction. They are choosing death for us. This is not politics. We are therefore, asking our supporters to stay calm and be law-abiding,” a statement signed by Mallam Garba Shehu, Director of Media and Publicity of the Campaign Organisation said.
“The whole world is watching and that if anything happens to General Muhammadu Buhari before, during or after the elections, under the pretext of X, Y, or Z, we shall be left with no option than to conclude that the PDP and their surrogates are to be held accountable,” it said. The statement read further that “even as a candidate, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has a duty to lead the country with responsibility up until May 29, when a new President will be inaugurated.”
The organisation however appealed to members and supporters of the APC not to play into the hands of the PDP, which apparently, is looking for a way to provoke
violence and hence, get “the much-needed excuse to abort this democracy before or after the elections.”

Buhari is certainly doing something right for him to be attacked with all this ferocity.

Nonsense! Buhari life is not as important as the many lives of youth corpers he championed to be killed or many that died through his action and inaction of his boko haramic disciples. Those souls are also previous to their families. If anything happen to him, there will be threat and noisemaking as usual and his case will remain close. Rubbish! 72 yrs dying granpa for that matter
