Sorry I don't have an answer to your questions rather I wanna ask another.... Please how did u get 2 admissions already , cos av been looking for even one admission since last fall. I had 307 in GRE and studied chemical engineering applied for petroleum engineering

I applied. Hope my answer doesn't come as rude; cos all I did was that simple to get in. If it's any consolation, your GRE score is better than mine. I can only suggest you reconsider your choice of schools.

Hi,

Let me begin by showing my gratitude to the selflessness and generosity I see on this forum. My progress so far in the process came from the knowledge I picked on here. If this attitude is replicated in different spheres of our national fabrics, we will have little or no reason at all to leave our shores. Thank you to every one of you for your contributions.

I apologize in advance if anyone is taken aback by my question. I’ve been admitted into the University of Missouri St. Louis and Middle Tennessee State U for a masters degree. And I’m currently waiting for University of Utah to make their admission decision on my application. Getting admission is obviously not a challenge to me, but my scare is getting a study visa with my age and marital status. I am 34 and still single (male). Do I really stand any chance at a visa with my situation?
Bro, u r going for an advanced degree, age shouldn't be a barrier especially in America so I see no reason it being a cause of visa denial. u must av done ur homework pretty well for u to be admitted to those schs. Did u get any funding from d schools? Even if u don't, as long as u can provide evidence of funding for ur studies, u r good to hit d consular.

Hi,
This thread has been quite educative and I really appreciate you all for your contributions to that.

My question is this: I wrote GRE august last year and I have a 146 and a 140 in verbal and quantitative reasoning respectively, with this scores, can I still apply for graduate admission in International Relations or Political Science?

To be honest, your score is very low. The lowest score you could get in GRE if you answer nothing is 260 (130V, 130Q) and highest score is 340. 260 is equivalent to 0 and 340 to 100. 286 converted to a scale of 100 = 32.5/100. No school in Nigeria even has such score as PUME cut-off mark.

Retake the GRE or better still, apply to schools without the GRE requirement and keep your GRE result for embassy purposes.

Slimmy05 and Bolade,

Come on, guys. Let it go. Slimmy might be excited since his arrival in US, but that's a stage almost every Nigerian newcomer passes through on arrival here. Bolade will also pass through that stage as well when he get here. I did too, myself. When we oldies see new arrivals show excitement, we oldies just know its a stage. It's nothing new. It isn't worth fighting over.
Let it go guys.

This silly rants of yours shows you share brain at par with a 6years old.

If it stings you being US, I guess you should take a walk to third mainland bridge and take a dive.

I don't need your silly ads to wish me well. I've been doing good for myself.
