Is it impossible to re-obtain a lost WAEC certificate?

If it is established that Buhari has no WAEC, then all his military training would have been built on falsehood and can not stand.

If you have a University degree. You are expected to submit Uni degree and Waec result. You do not ignore the baseline certificate which is WAEC because you got University degree. So Military training being equivalent to Masters means absolutely nothing. Buhari must produce his waec certificate!

It said at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday that it had a letter from the Principal of Buhari’s secondary school, dated 1961, recommending him for enlistment into the military school.

There is a lacunae in this law and that is that the constitution doesn't expressly demand a certificate

The constitution didn't ask for a certificate. It only requires that a candidate has secondary school education which a certificate might help to prove but a recommendation from the principal of the school in 1961 will also prove the same thing which is that the student attended the secondary school and received education that qualifies him for a school certificate even if he didn't write the final exam.

Note:a certificate having F9 or A1 throughout will prove the same thing which is:the student had school cert level education.

That is what the constitution stipulated. A secondary school education and a letter of recommendation from a school principal proves it.

This is my own take on it and I trust I'm entitled to my own opinion. If you disagree, lay out your own points.

How do we know whether Buhar spent 6 years there and failed his JSS1 exams each time?

As ridiculous as that sounds, the absence of a certificate opens the door for all sorts of assumptions, including the most ridiculous ones.

The principal could have seen that this man has no academic abilities, and on that basis, also upon notice of his stature and strength, sports and other school activities, be willing to recommend him to the army.

This is why a certificate is needed. if Buhari does not have one, let him come clean.

Section 31(5) of the Electoral Act says the presidential candidate must have secondary school qualification. However whether or not Buhari has it, he will, under Section 318 (c-d) be given a window of opportunity to contest. The latitude provided by that law is unheard of. Meanwhile, it is a shame Buhari never passed secondary school, even though he attended up to some stages.

Again, Nigeria, we bend the rules. It is all well.

did the VP Sambo produce his certificate to INEC? Buhari and the VP both claimed their certificate was lost in a fire and both have sworn affidavits.

Buhari, the man of integrity, has lied under oath.
This is not about the certificate anymore, but how a man that is bin sold as d epitome of uprightness has turned out not to be so.

I am not disputing all other qualifications, what I think does not matter and in the proper sphere of things, he ought not to proceed beyond certain points or get admitted to certain areas without qualifying certificates. but the issue is, where is that qualifying, fundamental certificate? Assumptions will not work in the eyes of the law! Justice must be done and seen to be done. If u assume that he must have had the basic certificate in question and he tendered them or it to be successfully enrolled in the Cadet school and War College, where are the copies? Lost?
And no, you do do not have to tell me where the certificate is because even you do not know where it is. If the owner is not even sure (Secretary-Military Board, IBB junta seizure, missing, not in possession of said Army/Military Board..etc), then even you, cannot hazard a guess or presume to answer the questions for him.

I see your points my friend but the law doesn't look at points. It looks at provisions of the law and the law has other things it equates to school cert equivalent. See section 318 for them

You and I can argue from now till tomorrow but until the courts stop him, I'm afraid PDP efforts will be a futile exercise.
