I have always believed that no society can exist without corruption, What varies is the degree.
I also believe that fighting corruption is more of a legislative and judiciary assignment. The president can and may only give order that a culprit be arrested. It is the police who charges to court and the judiciary give verdict based on what the law says.
if the police charges to court and the judiciary keeps adjourning like the case of Lawan, what would the president do?
if the judiciary is to sentence and the law says #750000 fine for someone who stole 32b, what will the president do?
knowing that the president has little do with fighting corrupt persons, i am interested to know how Buhari hope to fight corruption; knowing this is not 1985 when he can order the arrest and detention of persons without trial. Unless the rule of law and due process will not be followed.

The man is surrounded by corruption itself(tinubu n ameachi) ... GEJ till 2019!!!

he can not possibly stop corruption but reduce the degree.

They are corrupt people in china even with strict government law but don't make them caught you. do it at your risk. If found wanting you are on your own.

Its about the institutions. When there is a president that give a free hand to efcc to do their work corruption will be a thing of the past.

And when officers are promoted by merit it will strengthening the institutions. Remove those who are not performing.

Equip the police and fund them. when money that is ment for something is been use and spent justly then corruption will be minimum.

This will rebrand the already damage name nigeria already has.

This is uncalled for. Cant Buhari live in peace? You know he is in his very golden years.

OP has asked a very valid question.

buhari can never fight corruption with tinubu, atiku, amechi and father of all IBB he cannot do anything

HNosegbe:
OP has asked a very valid question.

I honestly wish one of his ardent supporters who have been going for all his rallies would hint me.

The concept of fighting corruption is either a blatant lie or convienient flattery. In Nigeria we do not accept or appreciate how deep-set corruption has become and how powerful a hold it has on society, institutions and governance frameworks. We still see corruption as large pockets of isolated events. (Gulf war proceeds, harliburton bribery scandal, fuel import subsidy scam, sao tome oil bloc sale scam, turn around maintenance refinery scam, Space satellite fraud, pension scheme fraud etc) when we hear of institutions like ICPC and EFCC fighting corruption, you understand the gigantic hurdle they have in front of them and realize we cannot fight it, reduce it. We must kill it.

Corruption in Nigeria is like a big OAK tree. It has very strong and deep roots, huge branches and thick foilage. This tree is nurture, nourished and sustained by the following societal hindrances that we blissfully ignore and by corollary, accept.
1: Religious Intolerance
2: Ethnic Bigotry
3: Political Immaturity
4: Lack of Patriotism and Sense of Nationhood
5: Deep Hypocrisy and fear of Sacrifice.

We can only deal with corruption by cutting it out like a cancer or gangrene. It is because we have not done.that for 60 years that we now face a bleak future as Africas Largest Black Nation.

The Rawlings Option or... A military+civilian led annihilation of Nigeria's leaders from President to lg councillor and a consitutional decree to execute perpetrators of corruption by beheading or public executions. In some asian countries where there is ZERO TOLERANCE to crime and corruption, e. Presidents have been executed for embezzlement, MD of companies shot for defective baby milk products that caused deaths of 3 children.. compared to the ernourmous crimes of irresponsibility our public officers exhibit daily, it is amazing we still allow the 5 aforementioned societal hindrances to blind us from taking action to avenge and prevent deaths of millions of Nigerians caused by corruption. Instead we accept mediocre performance as stellar achievements and kill true leaders who stand up to tell the truth.

We need to rid ourselves of these 5 handicaps and pull this drowning country out of the sea of corruption. We must take action

I will defer to the wisdom of Fela's rethorical lyrics.. go figure.

He would fight it by deploying his fake certificate.
